Don''t mind I wanted to inquire how much is the market price of 14k White Gold ( a price quoted by a jewelery when using the gold to make rings)

Is 27USD / gram for 14k White Gold (61% purity) reasonable, too high or too low?

A bit of math is called for. 14k is 58% gold and there are 31.1 grams in a Troy ounce. Today gold is $1214/oz on the bullion market. That makes the gold content of 14k $22.83 today. Add the alloy, a bit of labor and some distribution costs for retail and $27/gram seems entirely reasonable, cheap even. If the alloy you''re using includes palladium (currently going for $457/oz by itself) it''s under market. The costs to make it into jewelry are, of course, extra.

I needed to know this part which a consumer may not know.
This is helpful
When you say "cheap even", what do most people charge here in the USA?
Thanks Neil.

18/24 * 1214/31.1 = $29.27/g

For the 14k, cheap because there is only a $4/g for each setting attributed to labor, other cost and profit.

That calculation is the component cost of the yellow gold in the white gold.
i am asking how much is the market price for 18k white gold after the alloy and labour is factored in.

Too many unknown?

Mass production or custom piece? Type, design of setting? Skill level of the craftsman if custom made and how much he charge? Just to name a few unknown. How can anyone tell you anything with the information you provide?

Cheapest is not necessary the best deal.

Neil was able to give a rough estimate on the 14k white gold price / gram

I am not asking how much it cost to make a custom piece.
This thread was not talking about custom pieces.

I am just asking the approx cost of mixing yellow gold with the necessary allows to get 18k white gold.

Around here the jewelers are charging about $40/gram for 14k and about $55/gram for alloyed 18k. Labor to cast, finish, design, fabricate, set stones etc. is usually more than the gold component in a piece although this will vary with both the design and the craftsman involved. Some work cheap and some are very expensive. Metals are world commodities, skilled labor and the costs of running a store most definitely are not.
