How much domestic help do you have?

We have none but I would LOVE to have someone clean once a week. I hate to dust/vacuum and I would be more than happy to pay someone to help. We have a small apartment for now so I just suck it up but when we have a house we will definitely have someone to help!

We have a lawn service and that's it. DH hates to mow the grass and I don't blame him--plus then he is able to spend more time with me and the kids instead of slaving away over the yard. Neither of us cooks, so we get a lot of prepared store bought meals or take out. DH is a clean freak so he keeps the house looking nice, and he also does the majority of the laundry. I am a SAHM, so by default I do the most with the kids during the day, but DH takes over to give me a break when he gets home. He is great!

If my DH traveled for work a ton like yours does, I would hire help. It's hard when you have young kids and a demanding job!

ETA: the more I think about it, our two cats take up more of our time and make more messes for us to clean up than anyone/anything else in the house. Some days I really believe it'd be easier without pets, even though I do love them.

Wow - I did not expect so many responses to this thread! THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing your stories with me. I don't feel so alone and actually got myself some help over the weekend. I asked the electrician that was doing some work on our house to hang a few Christmas lights around our front door, I got a sitter and put a major dent in my Christmas shopping (kids will be covered, adults will just have to settle for some stocking stuffers this year), and I let some things go around the house. I had these visions of having the house spotless and decorated when my husband comes back Friday night, but it's just not going to happen. Thank you again!!
