How LONG Was the Engagement?

We were married 4 years after we met. Met in May of 2007, engaged July 2010, married October 2011.

It will be two years in October since we have gotten married. No kids yet...probably not for another 2 years or so!

We met I think in...1993. He and my brother met at a party and then he joined our group of friends. We became best friends, started friends w/benefits 12/31/99, engaged 2/14/01, married 11/10/01.
 
We lived together for a couple of years, then got engaged. I was never all that keen to get married, but once I decided to say yes, I just wanted to get on with it, so we were married three months later. At my wedding, I overheard a relative (on his side) comment that I didn't even seem to be pregnant. :lol:

eta we'll be celebrating our 10th anniversary later this year, with a trip to Paris. Can't wait!
 
Engagement was 5 months long. We didn't want any longer.

There are two different questions. One in the title and one in the post so I'll answer both...

The engagement was nearly 18 months. We got married 3 years to the day after we started dating.

Our first date was March 14, 1981 and we were married August 1983. One kid, three cats and several huge fights later we are still chugging along.
 
First met September 1998. First date June 1999 (I just graduated high school, he had one more year). Lost touch, went to different colleges, general life adventures. Got back in touch in 2003. Began officially dating November 5, 2005. Engaged February 1, 2008. Married August 8, 2008 (6 months engaged, basically the minimum for our Catholic wedding).
 
Met in September of '04, didn't start dating until January '09. (I was dating his best friend at the time who turned out to he a huge jerk.)

Engaged in October 2010. Married 18 months later in June 2012. =)
 
We met in high school so we were together for eight years before we got married. During that time, we experienced life...lived together, lived apart, bought the eng ring, then he attended college, etc., then moved back in together and decided to then get married. We were all over the place and didn't really follow the rules...Our 15 year wedding anniversary is in a few months from now.
 
We met and dated when we were 16. We broke up and got back together when we were 22. He wanted to propose when we were 27 but ended up proposing when we were 29 ... we took our sweet time and finally got married when we were 31.
 
We met and fell in love on the 16th of August 2005, during a flight from Athens Greece to Montreal Canada (love at first sight, hehehe)! After four years, we got engaged on the 25th of July 2009 (on His birthday! I organized a birthday party for him and invited the entire family and after we cut the cake and watched the fireworks, i turned around and saw him standing there with the ring and proposing in front of everybody!). We got married on the 26th of May 2010.
 
Less than a year; but we chose our daughter's middle name on our second date. ;))

ETA We are a same-sex couple and marriage equality passed in our state in June 2011. SO started shopping for a ring immediately as we had been ready since January 2011. The timing was right for us and we probably would have moved forward with plans to marry in another state if the bill had not passed, but I'm not sure. It was important to me to get married in the state where we live and have family.
 
I met DH when I was almost 23, and he was 25. Things got serious within a couple of months, and we got engaged 1.5 years later, when I was 24 and he was 26. We got married seven months ago, when I was 26 and he was 28.

We met as friends when I was 25 ... started dating when I was 27 ... three months later, we were engaged ... and a year and day after we got together, we were married. So the engagement lasted from ... February 12th to October 29th? So, seven and a half months, give or take.

We're celebrating our 5 1/2 year anniversary today!

DH and I met in Decemeber of 2006 and was married February of 2007. Yup! You're not reading that wrong! 3 whole months! And married! He had been married before and I had almost walked down the aisle. We were both with the wrong person. But I guess when you know, you know! We have been married for 6 years now :)

We honeymooned in the Seychelles and then he returned to America. I had to stay in England.
I emigrated from England to America April 2007 when my green card came through.

So the engagement was 18 months.
 
We dated for 11 months (he bought the ring after 4 months).
We were engaged for a year and two weeks.
Happily married for 8 whole months now! :wink2:

Fate would have it that I dated his roommate and he dated my friend via blind dates. One night I "professed my love" for him just to find out that he just asked his Gf to marry him (i was single btw. i read what i wrote and it didnt sound right!!) Bah humbug. He got mariied, I got engaged. 5 years later, half a world away, we bumped into each other at Busch Gardens - both reeling from being cheated on.

Dated from July to November, when he asked me to marry him whilst in a headlock :lol:
Got married in December.
We will have our 4th anniversary this December :)
