How LONG Was the Engagement?

How long after you met your DH or DW did you get married?

If you're gay, how long until you wished you could get married (if it's -ridiculously- still not legal where you are)?

As a follow up, how long have you been married so far?

For me, our first date was in February, and by December of that year we were married.

It'll be 30 years on our next anniversary.

Married 3 years to the day from our first date (and our first kiss!)...we'll celebrate 2 years married in Paris 2 months from today!

(Oh, and he proposed on our second anniversary, so our engagement was precisely 365 days.)

We started dating in July of 2006 and got engaged in October 2008. We got married two months later in December of 2008 so we had a SHORT engagement but had been together 2.5 years when we tied the knot.

It will be 5 years of marriage this December.

I met him April 2005, but we didn't start dating until March 2006. We then got engaged in October 2006 and married in February 2008. We probably would have had a shorter engagement, but he deployed two times back to back...come to think of it, we only saw each other for the ten days between Nov 06-Jan 08 when he had leave inbetween coming back from the first one and being recalled to go on the second one. Anyways, we have now been married for 5 years and are expecting our second child in about 9 weeks!

Met and communicated 4 months on internet before meeting in person. She agreed to visit me for a week after meeting and a few hours together, and decided to stay after 1 week. Married 3 months after meeting (and was engaged and planning the wedding for at least 2 of those months).
