How large can you go on a five stone band?

I have just begun a significant journey(diagnosed with breast cancer on March 19, but caught early and so I am grateful) and with the quarantine, and kids 24/7, and the stress of it all, I am contemplating treating myself to either ACA studs, or a five ACA stone band. I wear a 7 1/4 to 7 1/2 and would LOVE .70 stones. Too big? I love the WF "Skye" Uprong, probably with some modifications(because I am a difficult customizer every single darn time:roll:)

Thoughts on how big I can get away with?

Thanks for any thoughts....Stay well!

The bigger the better. Go for it. Maximize your budget. It will represent your win.

Sending you recovery and strength prayers.

Go big or go home, right?
My only caution would be comfort. As long as the stones don’t protrude too far off the finger between your fingers, you should be fine.
Very glad you caught the cancer early. That’s great news!
Stay Safe!! Please keep us posted on your band!!:cool2:

No limit, besides budget.

Trust your personal aesthetic, not mine.

Personally, I believe the stones need to be in proportion to the size of the finger.

The same stones in a band that looks good on a Size 10 finger would overwhelm a Size 7.5 finger IMHO.

At the end of the day, It really depends on the OP's personal preferences, and the look that you are trying to achieve.

DK :))

That would surely be a wall of bling and after what you've been through you deserve it! Wondering how you came up with .7 stones?
A .7 stone would be about 5.7mm...X 5 = 28.5mm. That is pretty wide for the top of the finger. I would suggest for comfort purposes
that you have it designed so all the stones will remain curved around the top of your finger and not go down inbetween your finger.
You can ask Whiteflash what the max size you can go with to keep it from going between your fingers. I'm sure there are a few PSers
that could figure that out for you...but not me!:lol-2:

Edit...So glad you caught the breast cancer early.

Like others have said, just make sure the design is comfortable? I would probably go for a ring in your situation. It'll be comforting and distracting during any sort of treatment and at home right now! My prayers are with you for the best- KILL that cancer!

Thank you @joelly I appreciate the good thoughts!
Thank you @Matthews1127 I think .60 stones should work, but will work with WF if I decide ring over earrings. I am so grateful for early discovery.
Thank you @dk168 . I want full coverage without discomfort...
Thanks @kenny I wish I made decisions quickly
Thank you @tyty333 I am sure too that WF can recommend. I just believe .50 stones are a teensy too small(ie: I can go a little bigger for coverage, but definitely don't want discomfort)
Thank you @LinSF I believe in treating oneself more and more as I am not getting younger(and a mom to five so I ALWAYS feel that I've earned it lol) I only like simple, classic pieces that are not costume. So I splurge on nice pieces. I appreciate the prayers more than you know :)

Since you mentioned you plan to customize the setting anyway, another option is to go to 4 stones so you can still get the vertical coverage of .7ct stones.

@Polabowla and @Matthews1127 , Trying to quit(the wine!) post diagnosis for awhile. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to eat super healthy during this darn quarantine. Too many kids in the house-the fresh stuff goes lol Ages of your children, please? Mine are 31,30,25(in May), 16 and 14. NO pets, just kids!

2 girls: 18 & 10, 4 boys. 22, 20,19, and 16.
No pets. Just kids...lol!

Congrats on an early cancer diagnosis! I beat pancreatic cancer that was diagnosed very very early ( caught by mistake). I think .70 stones would be really uncomfortable. I wear a size 8.5 and tried .5 stones and was uncomfortable. I would get the earrings, the biggest and best I could afford.

The way the stones are set might allow for larger than I'd think without having them get between fingers, this is a question for CAD. Then, a graduated five stones does allow a larger center (than equal five stones can be) at least.

I actually don't drink (can't tolerate alcohol at all....) no coffee either! Even with sugar I just can't drink it.

3 boys 3 girls; oldest is 16 youngest is 5.
Go mamma & beat that cancer, your kiddies love & need you!

This photo shows 5 x 0.50ct diamonds in a classic five-stone setting, ring size 8.5

if you go with 0.70ct diamonds and your ring finger is size 7.25-7.5, depending on your ring setting the side diamonds may well dig into the adjacent fingers -- which would be extremely uncomfortable for me but other people don't even notice it. Perhaps you could find some cheapie versions to order?

Good thoughts to you! I am all about comfort. How do you like your rings to feel between your fingers?

I have a 5 stone ring the diamonds are .63 carat a piece and I wear a size 6 ring. It's comfortable to wear. Trying find a picture to share with you, it's in my phone somewhere. Hope that's helpful.

Please share if you can @Ceilimom. I would so appreciate seeing it...
@alittlelight I definitely want comfort, but want the absolute biggest stone I can wear
@marymm Your ring is stunning! Thank you so much for sharing. Vendor?
@Polabowla You certainly have your hands full! Hoping more jewelry in your future :)
@AprilBaby Thank you for sharing! I am so encouraged by others' recovery stories. I am so happy for you!
@Matthews1127 Wow! I always say if we didn't eat, I'd be rich. I remember going through a gallon of milk a day at one point. Even now, with kids home 24/7 I am spending LOTS on food! You've earned lots of sparkles for sure :)
@AV_ I will definitely be using WF for either rings or earrings and they are awesome about sharing the CAD and tweaking...
@EC8 Hmmm, that's a thought-are there many four stones out there? I have five kids, so always just assumed I'd get a five stone...

To clarify, the 5-stone ring in the photo I posted up-thread is not mine and sadly I do not know who it belongs to ... I saved it quite some time ago as a reference photo.

No diamond advice, however I just want to chime in and send good luck and healing wishes @pinklemonadegurl! Rough to have to deal with something like this, and added to the Covid -19 situation my heart goes out to you. Stay strong.

@finerthings I so appreciate your kind thoughts! Covid-19 has definitely added big elements of stress, but has also been a great source of distraction(that and having kids at home 24/7!) Stay well and thank you :)

A friend of my mom’s did .60 plus on a larger finger. It was Beautiful!

I had to wait for help taking the picture of my ring. The diamonds are .63 carat a piece and my ring size is a 6. This ring generally stays put with the diamonds on top of my finger. It's very comfortable to wear. Hope this is a help.IMG_20200427_231018621.jpgIMG_20200427_231000114.jpg

@Ceilimom OH. MY. GOODNESS :D:D:D Exactly what I am thinking!!! Thank you so much for sharing the pic....Now I know it's do-able. My fingers are not particularly 'big',maybe on the underside? lol It's simply gorgeous!

@rocks Thank you for the input. I feel like it's totally do-able after seeing Ceilimom's photos...=)2

@Ceilimom What is the setting like? I love basket settings but would have to be low-ish. Please share who made your ring?

Pinklemonadegurl the setting is platinum and this was made 2009 ish through BlueNile. I'm going to have to look up what a basket setting is, I am not sure. I'll take a side view possibly that will help.
