How is this old mine?

Hi all,

Thinking about purchasing a 2.12 old mine, N/VS2, 48 table and 70 depth. The table seems small but I don't know how to evaluate that. Good polish, fair symmetry, no flourescence. Price listed is $9200. Any advice?

Hi @amyk44 do you have photos or videos? We can’t evaluate it by just the numbers.

It looks promising ❤ Chunkalicious facet pattern and a wonky shape I love. I trust Adam’s eye so if he says in reality life it’s a winner I believe him.

But you have to know your preferences to know if it’s the one for you. Is it beautiful to your eye?

And how are you with the color? An N is tinted. Is that appealing to you? You need to see the color in person.

Once you know your preferences Adam can find you the stone for you. He has the largest old cut collection. ❤️

It looks pretty to me. Its got personality but of course, it has to be what you love. What are the mm measurements on it? What is Adam's
return policy? I think I would need to see it before having it set to know if its the right one for me.

Adam is awesome to work with. He’ll send you diamonds to look at and then send back if they don’t work for you (obviously he takes a CC number!).

Thanks all! Measurements are 8.03 x 7.44 x 5.23. What do you think of that? Was concerned that a 48 table wasn't ideal but I'm not quite sure how to evaluate table size. Don't think I mind the lower colors but might try to see a few different OMCs he has...

Didn't know! Looked like the others he had tended to have larger tables. Thank you for letting me know...

I trust Adam a lot, so you are in good hands with him!

Adam has a great eye and a huge collection! What are your personal criteria for old cuts? I think that'll help determine what you're looking for. Do you care about spread? Old mines are cut fairly deeply so they might face up a little smaller. Price and specs-wise this seems like a good deal to me.

Flexible, but I think an OMC in the 2 carat range, not at all averse to lower colors! I do care a bit about spread but as long as it doesn't look like a 1.5 carat stone I don't mind if it doesn't look huge (seems like this one's deep but not crazy deep?). OWD appears to have the best selection I've seen, so I might go with them!

The 70% depth would give me cause for concern.

hm, could you explain why? seemed like this depth was in the standard range for OMCs?

It's not crazy deep. Mine is a tiny bit deeper and faces smaller.

A lot of omcs have that depth and it doesn't affect performance the way it affects oecs. OMCs are cushion shaped.

I think it’s gorgeous. I’m super picky on color and I was surprised that it is an N.

In my defense, I would point to the OMC that just won JOTW, and note it has a depth of 60.5% LINK :)
