How Hot is it where you Live?

So hot that the dog went as soon as he got onto the grass, then ran inside, took a big gulp of water, and is now lying next to the vent blowing cold air on the tiled kitchen floor.

HI:

No such luck.

cheers--Sharon

88 with 50% humidity. That's downright balmy for Oklahoma in summer.

Ha! After last summer busting our own plus a few national records, we EARNED a day or two of not-hell, right?

93 degrees, 41% humidity Boston, MA June 21 1:45 EST

a little hot for June..above normal.

Right now it is 54 degrees but a high of 70 expected! We had a week of 70 degree weather and I am absolutely loving it. Especially after a winter with 135" of snow. Anchorage, AK averages seven days a year above the 70 degree mark so we have been pretty lucky

All of your posts are giving me PTSD-style flashbacks to summers early in my career spent in DC, wearing suits and nylons in that sultry swamp....

Stay cool, people!

100. Thank god for AC!!!!

I'm dying of the heat right now. It's so blasting hot! We just got here so no a/c was on and when we put it on nothing happened! :errrr:
I told my dh we are going back to NY but he calmly took some time -felt like forever as the sweat was rolling down my face- and it started working (tried to understand what he did but not sure he even knows) and it is working very very slowly and I am still dying of the heat.

Oh darn summer...when the weather is like this I dream of living in sunny but mild California where my favorite type of weather resides. Instead of the usual hot humid summers we get here. ;( ;( ;(

Everyone stay cool and stay hydrated and stay safe!

Hey Skippy :wavey:

Hit 108 degrees during my visit.

Jeff, it was great to meet you too! Hopefully I will see you again next year; yeahhh, that was crazy hot out there! I am not use to 108 degrees! :sun:

Missy, that is awful that it wasn't cooled off before you got there! I hope it cools quickly!

Today was another 34C day with humidity making it feel like 40C. Tomorrow, off to VEGAS! It's gonna be hot hot HOT there, but..."it's a dry heat" so we can tolerate that much much better than humid heat.

Anyone going to be in Vegas over the next 5 days??? Would love to GTG if any ones headed that way, or Scottsdale Arizona after that... :sun:

have fun! If I lived in Vegas I would meet up with you but I don't! hopefully the GTG next year!

WELCOME to my world, everyone! :wavey: :D :D

It's been at least 90 every day since the end of April, and it will be that way until September. The daily heat index will be over 100 in a couple more weeks, actually, I'm not sure we may have already hit that. The humidity is UNbelievable.

However hot you are, think of me, I have that for half the year.

The people that have it figured out are the snowbirds; travel to where the weather is good. I'm definitely doing that when I'm old.

Good heavens iLander! That must be such a struggle to have smooth hair! Stupid - but in the humidity, my hair goes INSANE! There is no product known to me yet, that keeps down the frizzies... I could not live where you are, or at least have HAIR and live where you are!

I guess that explains your lovely tropical gardens...

The one good thing about summer (besides the long long days that is!) is that I cannot do a thing about my frizzy frizzy hair so I give myself permission not to care. It's very freeing. I used to struggle and blow my hair straight but I gave that up almost a decade ago. Now, I just shampoo, condition, and go. :sun:

Enerchi, have you ever tried Ouidad products? I find it helps with the frizzies. I like their humidity control gel and their lock in conditioner.

Thanks Skippy! It took many hours but before we went to bed the indoor temp hit 82 so with the ceiling fan it was bearable. The indoor temp when we got to the house last night was 95 degrees I think. And when we woke up this AM it was a lovely 73 degrees indoors. I am feeling a bit guilty though and I raised the temp up to 78 degrees for now.

Very dry and hot here in New Delhi (India). Tomorrow is going to be 42 degrees C (108 F) again! It's been like this or higher virtually everyday since May. There is a water shortage so I don't have enough water from the municipal government and am reduced to calling for a water tanker a couple of times a week. I actually ran out of water in the house last week and only realised when no water came out of the tap. Welcome to Incredible India!

Oh, a big AMEN to that, ksinger! Last summer was miserable.
