I asked for advice earlier on a ring and it helped a lot. I think I''ve narrowed my ring down to a either a)the Legato micropave from WF, b)the harmony from WF, or c)the tiffany channel replica from excel. But on to the topic at hand.

Barry has been very helpful and has given me a few candidates. The one I am looking at right now is .91ct ideal cut H SI2.
Depth: 62.1%
Table: 56%
Crown Angle: 35.5
Pavilion Angle: 40.6
Culet: 0
Polish: VG
Symmetry: Excellent

It looks pretty good for an SI2, but I think you guys might be a better judge of that than me. I''ve also been told the stone is very eye clean because the inclusions are whitish-gray and/or blend into the facets of the stone. Also, what is everyones opinion of buying an SI2? Should that be independantly appraised or would you generally pull the trigger? I''ve heard some people like to get an appraisal on anything less than a VS. Let me know, and here is the link:

All help is greatly appreciated!

If Barry had personally inspected a diamond, and told me it was eye clean, I would take that to the bank.....just my personal opinion, although Barry is known as a straight shooter.....

Aces in most diamonds that are TRUE SI2''s you will not see the inclusion(s) with the naked eye at normal distances. Some inclusions (like carbon which tends to be black spots) if they are on the table of the diamond, for instance, one can see it when they get close enough to the diamond. I have a 2.6something carat diamond that is a SI2 and I purchased it after a trusted pscope vendor told me it was eye clean and IT IS EYE CLEAN. No one ever notices a thing. I, myself, didn''t notice the inclusion when I first got it until I compared it to the GIA diagram and practically put it up to my eyeball. My inclusions are also ''clouds''. If you are uncomfortable, you can ask the vendor to send the stone to an indepedent appraiser where you can also go and view the stone yourself. Many, MANY buyers have done this. And regardless of whether your stone is a ''IF'' or ''I1'' you should always get it appraised for insurance purposes.

BTW excellent choices for the settings you are looking at...you have a tough job ahead of you picking between those!
