How Does this ASET for OEC Look?

Please let me know if this looks like a good one. Thanks!aset2_3.jpg

Pretty freaking awesome, especially for a true vintage. Does lose a bit of light at the edge (green instead of red) so it might at times look a bit smaller than it is, but other than that... awesome.

Thanks Gypsy! Do you think a bezel setting or halo will counteract the loss of light around the edges?

A prong set halo like mine, where the girdle is set right at the top of the melee, with the halo having a tilt, will brighten it. I've seen it happen with my own stone. A bezel will darken it most likely.

See how high my girdle is in my setting (black arrow)-- that's what I mean.

Oops, the vendor sent me the wrong pic. The first ASET I posted is of a newly cut OEC. Here is the correct ASET of the old stone. How does it look? Does it show darkness under the table?aset2_4.jpg

it is showing a bit of darkness there but it's not all dark there is red there. Hmm. Can you get a video? It's not an auto-disqualify... it's a get more information.

Is the stone clean to your specifications, whatever they are? There are quite a few inclusions, looks like.

And ditto Gypsy, real pics would be good. I like what I see in the ASET so far - changes from one colour to the next are nice and clean (no "mush").

The stone is a very clean looking VS2 with a feather, extra facet, and cavity along the edges. I think those are smudges in the pic.

That doesn't make sense - those inclusions are obviously not what I'm seeing in the pic, and there shouldn't be any smudges in a photo through a scope... if the stone is dirty then the ASET photo is not representative of its light return, if those are inclusions not listed on the report/description/whatever then the only other explanation is that it's the wrong photo again.

Hmm, I don't know. The ASET at the top is of a VS1 stone and it has the same type of smudges. The ASETs are from the same vendor.

HAHAHA! That is true. Someone needs to clean their lenses.

Yikes, yeah, that'd do it!

Plummiecat, I didn't know there was a vendor other than GOG cutting newly cut OECs. Would you mind sharing the vendor's name?

Sure, Engagement Rings Direct. They have a few on their website.

Cool beans. Mark can take a video for you, I think.

You can recognize Mark's ASET's anymore. Very interested in seeing a picture of the first diamond.

Thanks, plummiecat and Charmy.
