How does Canada's Gemscan Lab Compare to GIA/AGS?

They sure mention GIA a lot on their website.

Does that mean they grade color, clarity and cut to the same standards?

Anyone have an idea?

In my experience, they are similar to EGL. Just this week I saw two diamonds that they graded SI2 that was an I1 and SI1 that was SI2.

They include a 'appraisal' value card that is wack. We throw those out. No clarity plot, just stated colour, cut, and clarity.

The colour grading has been correct, but clarity was clearly less strict than GIA/AGS at least in those two examples.

It does not really matter in the US market because even if they are right, no one will accept their paper if you ever go to resell.

To be unknown in this business is to be unloved.
