Hi guys,

This problem is still baffling me for a while now, and it's frustrating me to no end.
How in the world do you take a photograph with the arrows showing in a hearts and arrows diamond?

I know that you can view the arrows when viewing the diamond using a loupe.
I have spent 4 hours trying to recreate the environment of a giant loupe, but for some reason the only result that I get is a dark diamond. It could be because my lens is so close to the diamond that it's blocking light from coming in from the front (when you are viewing a diamond using a loupe, I think there is a semi-translucent white eye piece that allows light to go in from the top).

Does anyone know how to take pictures of the arrows consistently? I don't know how diamond vendors can get it every shot.

Thanks

Hope someone has an answer for you, I would like to know myself.

I have the best success when I hold my hand up to a window where the sunlight is coming in, and use the macro setting on my camera.

Wear the ring and hold your hand up in front of a window so the light is coming from BEHIND the diamond, or rest it on a window ledge or other object with natural light coming from behind the diamond. Use macro mode. Don't wiggle your camera. Voila!
