Trekkie, I'm so sorry about your mother, sometimes emotions when parents die are harder and more complicated when childhoods weren't the happiest.

You've had great advice about the storage. Do make sure that any organics are stored in a somewhat humid environment, so that is pearls, bone, coral, ivory, tortoise-shell etc as they will crack and dry out.
