I designed the ring
It''s being custom made as we speak.
The background story:
I''ve always wanted/dreamed of the "suprise" romantic proposal and ring but my other half knew better. After hinting at getting engaged for a while, he said something to the effect of "I have no hope of ever finding you a ring that you would be happy with when you can agonise for days over a shade of blue" (he was referring to a painting I was working on at the time - still work in progress
). To that statment I think I said that I would be happy with anything as long it was from him as an imediate reponse. However, after some reflection I realised that he was right. This ring would be something that I would wear everyday for the rest of my life - it was unreasonable for me to expect him to be able to find something that I would be ocer the moon with if I didn''t have any imput. (I blame soppy romance movies/novels for this dellusion).
So to cut a long story short, I asked him to set a budget (I really had to push for this) and then I worked with a jeweller to design the ring and find the diamond within that budget.
