Hello! I found this vintage set on ebay for $400. Did you think I did all right for the price? It's for my mom... 14k, 1940s (I think) and the seller estimated .5 carat tw. Thank you for your expertise!

I think you did quite well! It’s a lovely vintage set. It looks like the band and e-ring interlock so they won’t slide around the finger independently, which is very nice if she intends to wear the rings as a set.

Although the shanks are worn, it doesn’t look in the photo like they're anywhere near the point where they need to be replaced.

Do take both rings to a good jeweler to have the prongs checked.
