How did I do?

Another question for all of you pro pricescopers......I''m proposing either on V-day(which i think is kinda eehhh) or on our 6 month dating anniversary on Feb 28th(which is a Saturday night!). Which would you rather??? Its going to be tough to wait until the 28th!

Sounds gorgeous!!

Tough call with the proposal, if you think your GF might be hoping for a proposal on Valentines then maybe do it then?

Nope, she''s not expecting it anytime soon. I''ve been crying poor to throw her off and she thinks that I need to sell my condo before I can afford a ring.

Anyhow, thanks to all of you regular pricescopers for advice over the past few weeks and all the pictures and opinions which helped me narrow down what I wanted. This site is great for the uneducated ring shopper! I feel like a pro after paying attention for a few weeks! I''ll try to post some pics when it arrives.

Valentine''s Day for sure!!! She''ll really be disappointed if V-Day passes and no proposal. Even though we girls may say to not do it on that kind of obvious day, most of us really would want it sooner rather than later!!! Plus, that would make Valentine''s Day extra-special forever.

And you have outstanding taste, by the way! I cannot wait to see that gorgeous stone set in a VC setting!

My vote is to propose on Feb 28!!! She might be inclined to think it''s coming on Valentine''s day. Besides, Valentine''s day is everyone''s day, Feb 28 is YOUR day.

My vote is the day BEFORE Valentine''s day! Throw her off completely and then enjoy both Valentine''s Day and your dating anniversary as an engaged couple.

Ditto!!

I agree with neatfreak...the Day before...that way she can be happy on both your upcoming special days and wont
have a clue about it coming!

My vote is for February 28th, though I wonder if she will be hoping for it to happen on Valentine's Day even if she doesn't think that it will.

It all depends on your GF. Personally, I hate Valentine''s Day and all the overpriced garbage that goes with it. So if my FI had proposed on Valentine''s Day I''d be kind of put out, like he didn''t really think about me when coming up with his proposal which is something we both thought was important. If your GF loves Valentine''s Day, then it would be a fabulous day to propose. I''m partial to the Anniversary proposal; in particular the day before the Anniversary proposal so it''s a big shock and then she has all day on your Anniversary to doubly celebrate. But I''m totally biased since that is how my FI proposed.

LOVE the ring btw! She''s going to be thrilled.

Thanks for all of the opinions! I wasn''t expecting that! Lol.

A few more points....she has a son, and I want the proposal private, between her and I, with no interuptions of course. I do like the idea of the night before VD or the night before the Anniversary, but we won''t be alone those nights. We will be alone for VD and the 6 mo Ann, so it will definitely be one of those 2.
I like DiamondsforDee''s answer, I do think Valentines Day is a big hoopla and not a ''real'' romantic day, so i''m leaning towards the 28th for sure, but it will be hard to wait that long. Maybe i''ll do it on MY birthday, Feb.23rd, lol. That will REALLY throw her off!!!
I know that she''s not expecting it within the next few months, i''ve done a good job making it clear that I cant afford it right now....so i dont think that will be an issue or reason to choose one day over the other.
Anyways, thanks again for your input! You guys rule!

Oh, wow, YOUR birthday would really be perfect! You can tell her you can''t think of anything in the world you want more for your birthday than HER! I do think that day would be a real surprise!

I vote for proposing as soon as you get it - take her somewhere nice and just surprise her - don''t wait!

If you can wait and she can too, then go along with your surprise.
If not I agree to ask her asap. Sometimes the built up days/bdays/holidays are not worth it.
N. proposed January 2nd around midnight, so maybe it is January 3rd.
But we were on vacation and it was so much fun.
Considering my bday is in January and he passed up xmas and new years but not waiting for valentines or my bday- kind of threw me off.
good luck!

I agree! If my hubby said this to me on his birthday, I would be blown away (in a good way) and melt right in his arms.
