I would like to get a general idea of big everyone's engagement is on here.
If you can post your color, and clarity as well it would be fantastic.
Thanks!

There are some big rocks on PS, more than 5 or 6 cts.

Are you asking for fun or to get a general gauge of the average e ring in general? If it’s the later- we’re not a good pool.

The avg PSer's Ering is 1.27 ct.

avg in the U.S....1ct
avg PS......1.27ct
avg NYC....2.75ct
avg No.Ca & So.Ca.......2.5ct
avg in the mid west....70ct

When was the last time you did a PS poll, though?

Mine is only .3 ct and I don't know specifics as it was given to me. I would guess about an H I1. I am new here and found PS while looking to upgrade. New will be around 2 ct. Been married almost 19 yrs and just now had the desire. I also never wanted to finance a ring so had to wait.

I think it would be helpful to clarity what your first engagement ring size is or was. I remember reading that the most popular size for an engagement ring is .90 carats. Older folks (like me) may choose to upgrade to a larger diamond.

My first wring (first marriage) was .47 f si2 (clouds)

Next engagement ring was .63 g VS2 VSBF. Then (same guy) 1.05 cushion h Si2 (eye clean). Then 8mm OEC sic. Then 1.27 transitional K SI2 (avatar). I still have all the rings, but not the first marriage diamond.

Hahahah everything from 5/8 to 4.02ct.
F to Fancy yellow
I1 to VVS2

One husband. He's dead since May. Maybe it was the diamonds. (BLACK widow humor!)

I have my forever diamond now - 2.937 I/VS2
But before that:
1.7 G/SI1
1.0 F/SI2
.79 H/VS1

I'm on my first wring.. 34 H IF. The upgrade-lust bug has bitten already but the reality is probably a few years off if ever. If I do it'll probably be to 1ct.

I didn’t have one :(2 Technically we just got married and skipped the whole engagement phase.

How big is my ring?

It measures 1.058" x 0.911" x 0.255".
The size 8.5 or 0.73"

I’m a newlywed; been married 1 year.
My center diamond is:
Emerald Cut
1.07ct
G color
SI2 (disputable-extremely eye clean-no clouds)

In my region of the world, the everyday woman wears under 1ct (somewhere between 0.50-0.75ct). Even in my workplace, I have the largest diamond, among my coworkers, and equal size to the physicians for whom I work. My office manager even has a considerably smaller center diamond, and has been considering an upgrade.
Geographical position on the globe, societal norms to that region, and other factors are calculated into the “average” center diamond size of engagement rings.
As mentioned above, PS is not the best gauge for the “average” size, as most have been upgraded, and are on the heavier carat weight end of the spectrum.
If you go to “Show Me The Bling” forum, you will see posts containing “Under 1ct”, “1ct-2ct”, and so on. Women post their stats, as well as their finger/ring size to assist others who are interested in a certain size, in comparison to their finger coverage.
It’s important to note that Rounds (MRB’s) typically have a larger spread in diameter, and are cut more top heavy than bottom heavy, whereas, typically, the opposite is true for fancy cuts. Carat weight is not the same as spread in diameter. You can have a 0.90ct MRB that has a larger diameter than a 1.00ct Cushion/Oval/EC.
These are all things to consider when searching for the biggest bang for your buck.

Realizing now that Kenny is the only one who answered the question correctly! :eek-2:
TECHNICALLY he asked how big our engagement was. Mine was small- just the two of us. Then we sent many texts to family and friends. We never had an engagement party, but we did have a long engagement before an extremely small wedding.

1.61cw I color

My engagement ring was a .33ct with a swirl band with round and marquise diamonds, it is very sparkly and no visible inclusions but we knew nothing about diamonds other than what the mall SA told us (this was, ahem, 28 years ago). It was terribly impractical for my work and I lost several marquises there. So I put it away and wore a plain band for about 15 years until having the shank cut off and it made into a pendant that had both pieces soldered together. Fast forward to finding PS and I now have the diamonds all gypsy set into a band that I love. And I have a 2.2ct antique cushion L VS1 upgrade.

:appl: Yay me and thanks PS!

This is a very odd poll. Why the very large upper and lower ranges and the specificity at .75-1.00?
Is the objective to find out how common stones in this specific size range are on PS?

I am guessing the poster is talking in relation to her own experience ( she has another thread asking about 0.9 and really wanting to hit 1 carat) and trying to figure out where she is on the spectrum in terms of her wants versus what others have.
