NO NO NO.. Honey, I2 is only one step up from the WORST clarity. It WILL have eye visable inclusions, most likely be a poor cut and may even have surface breaking inclusions. PLEASE look elsewhere!

Agreed!!!! The awesome members on here would be able to help you find a similar ring in your price range with an amazing diamond!
For example, WF is selling a .51 ct G VS2 ACA for $1540, and they give a PS discount.

I didn''t mean to run off at work so I cannot post alternatives right now but I will try tonight. It''s a bit difficult from my iPhone! Of course by then u might have a thousand replies! Are u opposed to getting a solitaire mow and resetting it later?

I like the setting but like the others have said, I2 is not the best choice.

I agree. PLEASE do not spent that money on that w/ an I2 stone!!! You could find so much better quality all around for the same budget if go with any of the PS approved online vendors!

ditto - ditto - ditto. Do NOT spend that on an I2 stone! You will NOT get a nice stone! People here can help you get a beautiful, high quality stone for a much more reasonable price.

You will NOT be getting a diamond that looks anything like the one in the picture if you purchase an I2.

Look at this thread and see the difference between an I2 and a well cut stone that is DEFINITELY in your budget:

You can email Whiteflash, give them your budget and a picture of the ring you like and see what they find for you. You will be SO much happier with your ring - have a lifetime trade-up...
Also - that stone from WF someone posted earlier is BEAUTIFUL. And check out a setting similar:

Pretty setting.

Lovely setting! Best of luck for a speedy proposal! I agree with the previous posters. See if you can get the setting and stone separately and get a better quality stone.

My ering is predominantly pave (halo with three-sided pave band) and I've only lost 2 stones in the 2.5 years I've owned it. Both times involved a ultrasonic cleaner, and both times my jeweler replaced the stones free-of-charge. I would ask your jeweler if they have a warranty on the setting and melee before you purchase it if you're concerned. Mine had a 1 year warranty on everything but the center stone, which my insurance covered.

Waterlily, the "I2" in that thread isn''t really an accurate representation of an I2. That''s an ebay hack job. I''m not saying they''re good stones to buy, but lets not be unrealistic. OP, with an I2 stone you''re most likely going to be able to see "stuff" when you look at the stone. It could be black specks, it could be lines, it could be white blobs, but they''ll be clearly visible to the naked eye.

I love that setting, but I think you can get a much better stone through one of the vendors here and still stay on budget.

Soo pretty!! It looks like a Simon G setting that I considered when we were looking!

Here is a mine... Link

Waterlily, the ''I2'' in that thread isn''t really an accurate representation of an I2. That''s an ebay hack job. I''m not saying they''re good stones to buy, but lets not be unrealistic. I do like the setting, as I said above, but I also agree with everyone else, you can get a much better stone for your budget...

And here is the Simon G setting that I mentioned in my other post, which I have seen set with a 0.50 center stone for around 2,500

I''m guessing the setting is going to have I1-I2-I3 stones too.... Which won''t help or look good at all if you end up getting a different diamond for the setting.

I can''t tell, but it sounds as though you have already purchased it? Please don''t think anyone is attacking you here, we are trying to help! If you see the ring and it doesn''t bother you, then that is all that matters. If, when you see it in person and it looks dull, lifeless, cloudy... I would just return it.

FYI

Clarity goes like this:

IF/FL- Flawless (highest rating possible, absolutely no inclusions

VVS 1
VVS 2 - teeny tiny not visible to your eyes inclusions

VS 1
VS 2- tiny inclusions, also not easy to see

SI 1
SI 2- slightly included, sometimes possible to see inclusions close up

I1,I2,I3 the I stands for INCLUDED. These are the lowest graded clarity and it''s extremely hard to find good looking I diamonds (though, I''ve seen a few I1 that are not bad!)

I recommend finding one that is si1,si2 to fit your budget, but first I would focus on CUT quality....

Yikes! Back away from the ring.

While the setting is gorgeous, an I2 diamond is not. That thing will likely be a poor cut, full of visible inclusions, and very, VERY lifeless. Meaning no sparkle. At all.

Your budget is a nice cushion for a beautiful ring, but please don''t spend that money on this one. The price is too much for the (lack of) quality. You should be given a ring that suits you, that you love, but that stands up against others when comparing quality and longevity.

It''s better to do some research and get a higher quality ring from another vendor.

Beautiful setting but PLEASE don''t get the I2!

I also suspect it is not graded by a reputable lab if the diamonds are H/I and not one grade. Perhaps these specs refer only to the setting and not to the center diamond?

someone else on PS had this exact same setting, tho i think custom made? not littman''s, anyway.

it was gorgeous.

this ring made with good quality stones would be fabulous. if you haven''t already purchased this ring, stop and reconsider; you can have the exact same ring, but much more beautiful.

can anyone find the ring i''m talking about? it was this exact same style, but not from littman''s...

So pretty. You have good taste!

Lovely ring! Hopefully you will get the ring of your dreams very soon!

the center stone is 1/2 ct... the ring itself is 1 ct

There are many, many options as far as settings and diamonds for you budget :) I picked out some, maybe you will like them... either way, the quality of these settings and diamonds are a higher quality. Hope ur not scared by all the links... lol but different combos for your budget.

Wow, Mrs. W, that''s a fantastic list of very gorgeous rings!

Maddison-there are tons of choices within your budget. With a little research, you might find something exactly like your dream ring for a better price! :)

Hey Maddison

like they all said -- please keep your money and shop around -- dont just get this ring because its ''available now''
Shop around with the help of the Pricescopers and get more bang for your buck.

congrats on the engagement and what a beautiful ring -- (in theory).
The similar settings mentioned and a good 0.50 would be a stunning ring and would actually look more like a larger diamond if its well cut to!

Greetings
