IF Trump where going to offer condolences and speak out for mental health care and for gun control I'd be for it. BUT obviously he's not.

Well of course you would but gun control is not part of his policy so no he won't be doing that.

BTW that entire Obama statement is about gun control and making new laws. That is what the protesters were talking about.

Don't you know by now it is against the law :read: for any AA to support Trump?. All these yrs the D party had taken minority votes for granted, but now more and more minorities are realizing the D party are using them for political gains only. I am a supporter of the JFK D party, but not today's socialism/radical D party.

I have been thinking about this today and I am not sure how he plans to do this. There are several different explanations/interpretations of the 14th being discussed out there. The intention was not for foreign born people to come here to have babies in order for them to be US citizens as is happening now. I guess we'll see how this pans out but he is probably talking out of his ass on the EO because of midterms coming up. He can't change an amendment to the Constitution with an EO.

My guess is that he/they will attempt to question the reference to jurisdiction.

All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

I *think* the question they’ll raise is if the mother is here illegally, does the U.S. truly have jurisdiction over her/the child? If the mother is not a citizen, does her mere ‘presence’ on U.S. soil grant the U.S. ‘jurisdiction’ over her child? I’m not sure.
 
Maybe but I don't see it as his duty to fix it, because Congress should be doing it. They need to do their job and this is one issue that has been sitting for a long time with none of them willing to do it.

I am, however, bothered by the shocking number of mass murders committed by guns in the US. And being told by second amendment absolutists (most of whom laughably refer to themselves as 'originalists') that it's "not the time nor the place to “prevent further tragedies” with anti-gun messages when bodies are still bleeding out on the floor" smacks of emotional blackmail from a group who will never believe there's an appropriate time or place for that discussion, and so, carries zero weight with me.
 
Every time Trump opens his mouth he is always talking out of his @$$.

Trump showed no respect for the people of Pittsburg today. He was told to wait until they had buried members of their community before making his trip. Police officers were needed to protect the community, not worry about Trump. His flipping rallies are more important to him then actually helping our citizens. Heaven forbid the president put the country’s needs above his own.

I don’t disagree. But seeing how he seems to get fed up when Congress doesn’t do its job, I’m not surprised he’s trying to do it for them ... I wouldn’t be surprised even if it’s not a ploy on his part to get them off their asses to do something out of fear of what HE will do.

And it may very well be to force it to the court which is what happens with other things Congress either doesn't want to address or should be a state issue. :roll2:
 
I think everyone needs to take a look at this weeks New York Magazine’s cover of 15 year old Anthony Borges. He is the Parkland survivor who was shot with five bullets. Anthony is pictured shirtless, showing his body scars and colostomy bag. This is result of the weapon some here feel should remain legal. Anthony is lucky, he survived.

No one wants to take all your guns away. We just want common sense gun laws.
