I was reading the thread from novice diamond girl and didn't want to thread jack. My jeweler has a stone which has the proportions that you said would be better for her.

56 table
35.5 crown angle, 15.5%
40.6 pavilion angle, 42.5%
62.6 depth
60% stars
80% lg
Thin to slightly thick (faceted) 4.5%

It gets a 1.4 HCA
1B AGA
When I check the GIA tables it scores in the excellent range for table, crown, pavilion angles but I think that the stars are making it score Very Good cut grade. Just a guess from everything that i have been reading.Excellent polish and again Very Good symmetry. Any insight would be very helpful to me. He is looking at the stone, not me and recommends it. I just have pictures.
Thanks .

62.6 is deeper than we normally recommend. What is the weight of the stone and what is the diameter? Is the stone not GIA graded?

Hi Diamond Seeker, yes it has a GIA report. It is 7.65 and 1.76.

It is cut deep. Thus, the face up size might be smaller than what you excpect.

The angles should work together and the pic look like they do.
However there is a bit of weight lost in the girdle so it faces up a bit small.

If you have other images post them.

One more picture. What happens with 60% stars with those other proportions? What would keep this from being an excellent? Thanks for looking and for your valued opinion.

60% stars are fine, it would show in the pic if it was an issue
