I am looking at excellent cut diamonds between 0.6-0.7 carats, K-J color at the moment for an e-ring. I want to get my future fiance a yellow gold ring, so the warmer colors don't bother me. I want a solitaire for a reasonable price that doesn't swallow the diamond. I want to make sure the diamond shines bright I am not particularly fond of smooth solitaires in yellow gold. They look fine in white gold but for yellow gold, etched patterns or cable-like designs look better (at least to me). For example:

I'm leaning toward the cable design because it is thinner, but I'm curious what others think. Which would make a 0.6-0.7 carat diamond pop more? If there are any other ring suggestions, please feel free to link them!
Edit: Her ring size is a 7.
