Hi all--

I'm planning an OEC three-stone ring, just in the beginning stages. I'm thinking of setting it in (thin) bezels, but I'm not sure about the setting yet--I know that can make a big difference, but let's assume the stones will be more or less abutting one another. What I do know is that I'd like it to have great finger coverage and hand presence. I'm a size 6, which is, I think about 17mm across? So my question is: how many mm of diamonds do I need for complete coverage? 17mm? More? Less? I prefer three-stones with the sides fairly close in size to the center, say 76-86%, if that makes any difference. To figure this out, do I just add up the mm widths of the stones?

TIA! :))

Yes, just figure up the mm, but you'd have to add the bezels, too. Also, most rings will curve around the top of your finger, so be sure you are taking that into account.

This was my ring with a 1.05 6.3mm center and two 4.3-4.5mm .40ct sides.

Size 7.5

redwood66, is that the ring for sale at LAD? Saw that! And considered buying it! But I'm not actually ready to buy yet, more's the shame. It's gorgeous! Thanks for the perspective on size.

DiamondSeeker, thank you, too. I guess I should figure out my setting before buying stones!

Yes DecoDaze that is my ring. I kinda sighed a bit when I saw the sneak peek because it truly is a beautiful ring.

It is indeed. I'm sure it's really hard to part from a piece like that, but I'm betting whomever it goes to will treasure it.
