Hello,

I would really appreciate everyone’s help with my question.

My wonderful fiancé gave me the most beautiful e-ring a month ago and I couldn’t be happier! Unfortunately I was blessed with big knuckles and skinny fingers (as many of the other members of these forums have been) and am going to send my ring back to WF to have a horseshoe spring put in.

Here is my dilemma:

How do I know what size to have the horseshoe spring made?

I went to a couple of jewellery stores around town and no one seemed to know what I was talking about or was very eager to help. I’m thinking that I should just measure my finger with a string and send the circumference of my finger to WF. They’ve asked for a ring size, but I’m just not sure what to do.

jazmine, I know that you’ve had the same thing done with WF. How did you go about this?

Thank you to everyone for your assistance!

Ideal....I had a horseshoe put into my RHR. Although the ring was my size, it was very top heavy so my jeweler put in a horseshoe to stop the spinning. All she did was make sure that the horseshoe was smaller than the ring size itself. My ring size is a 4.25 and the shoe is probably a 3.75.

WF told me that there is no size for the horseshoe so don''t worry about it. It is a very flexible piece of metal and you can bend it inward and outward to make it looser or tighter (though I don''t recommend doing that too much as you will wear it out). It will adjust to your finger size and will not stay the same size all of the time anyway. When you wear if alot, you may find that you have to press the sides inward to tighten them up a bit. WF also told me that horseshoes will not last forever. If you are careful when taking if off and on it should last you quite a few years though. The jeweler just told me not to be shocked if some day is just breaks. I can be easily replace. It is the absolute best solution for my skinny fingers and big knuckles.

did you think of beads instead???

Thanks for your help, everyone! I feel much better about it.

DiaGem, I decided on the horseshoe spring because of the different experiences people have had on this forum. I think it''s the best choice for me. Thanks for the suggestion though!
