I've been to a number of shops in NYC and have looked around online, but I can't seem to find the engagement ring setting that my lady desires. Hoping some kind folks can point me in the right direction based on the following criteria:
4-prong RB solitaire (will be using a 2.5ct purchased elsewhere)
No cathedral, bridge, halo, or any other fancy things near the center stone. Very simple.
Platinum
And finally for the hard part:
She wants eternity diamonds all the way around (they can be mostly all around; doesn't need to be 100%), but she is dead set against channel set and pave. She likes the shared prong setting, but it needs to be "skinny". In other words, she wants a fairly narrow band, which means that the eternity diamonds also need to be smaller. I've heard some people use the term "micro shared prong", but every real jeweler I've mentioned this to has never heard the term. She wants as little metal as possible showing between/around the diamonds on the band.
Here is a picture of a ring that she likes a lot, but admittedly it's almost impossible to see how the eternity diamonds are set Could be channel set for all I know. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/234187249347320949/
She also dislikes the jagged look of some shared-prong eternity settings that can be seen from the side.
Please help!
Here are some other examples. Some are wedding bands, but just focus on the setting of the eternity diamonds to get an idea of what I'm looking for.
