The facts you have show up as being a very nicely fashioned diamond. The crown angle might be a tiny bit to the shallow side, but not way off. It is certainly good enough for you to examine the diamond with your own eyes and in comparison to any other you might want to buy so that you pick the best of the bunch.

Here is the 40x, idealscope and sarin - little concerned about the crown angle being AGS1 (yet the cut for GIA is still ex, ex, ex) Thanks!

looks like it has some mild painting going on and combined with the shallow crown that''s not the best.
Have Brian review the diamond with you and give an opinion to check if its an issue.

It looks like it would be a pretty stone. If you''re not looking for a super ideal, this is a nice one.

strm, do you think they would offer it if it was a prob? I just kinda figured they wouldn''t if it was.

depends on who by and how it was reviewed.
My opinion is when there is a question the safe route is too go too the top expert available at any given company.
Brian may have allready seen it in person signed off on it then thats kewl with me.

I see, and true, it doesn''t hurt to ask.

It''s not super super cherry, but I think it would be a very pretty diamond in person.

what does ''painted'' mean when looking at the idealscope?
the stone is a tad under $24k - can I do better?
thanks!

Just spoke at length with Brian about the stone (GREAT guy) and I think that I''m going to go with this stone. Now just have to find the right pears to go along with it! Any suggestions?

Good deal!!

Most times people just have the vendor that is making the setting find the matching sidestones. Do you know who you want to make it, or where you want to get it if it's already made?

I'd still like to know what painting is.

What''s a super ideal? Sorry for all the questions.

I''m actually going to have Whiteflash do the setting as well.
I was contemplating having Leon Mege set the stone but wasn''t sure how to go about approaching it. And with the positive experience in dealing with Lesley and Brian I''m sure that they will do a good job.

Thinking about .6 - 7 tcw for the pears - is that a good in relation to the 2ct center?

I honestly couldn''t say without seeing all the stones of that size together (and same weights can have different shapes). WF will help you out on what can work, part of it is just personal preferance (and let them find them). I''ll give you a thread on pears, which should have some 3 stone rings in there to help give you an idea of how different sizes give different looks. You''re going to have a gorgeous ring!

A super ideal refers to extremely well cut stones, like WF''s ACA''s and GOG''s H&A inventory.

I''ll give you a link to painting, and if you have more questions, maybe start a thread on them so we don''t take over calbear''s thread.

A 3 stone with pear sides is one of my favorite looks.

I think i would go slightly smaller on the pears though. Maybe .50tcw.

i would go for smaller sidestones so your center stone can stand out!! i love the look..so very classic!!
you''re going to have some major finger coverage with that bling

Thanks guys! I''ll probably go for something .5 - .6 tcw depending on what WF can find. Her finger size is between 4.25 and 4.5 so I *think* we''ll have almost coverage and won''t suffer from shrinkage

although judging from the ladies here its going to be inevitable!
so glad the long search is over and much thanks goes to everyone on PS!

I love rounds with side pears as u can tell,(from my aviator) lol.Mine is 2.54center round brilliant and sides total 110. total ct. Can''t wait to see hand shots!!
