Hi!
I read various forums and blogs. Finally few days ago I made a purchase from JA, and awaiting an idealscope and the actual diamond to come in.

https://www.gia.edu/report-check?reportno=1235401883
HCA 1.2 / 1.1 - depending if % or angle is used, close to $7k

of course, instead of patiently waiting I am still looking and reading more....
in an old post by diamondseeker2016 the specs below were outlined. How important is it to stay within those?
table: 54-58
depth: 60-62.3
crown angle: 34-35
pavilion angle: 40.6-41.0
I am reconsidering the purchase, in favor of something that is closer to the specs, but receives a HCA 2.5 (which should be a NO?) and it is within the same price range with better clarity.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Did you get the IdealScope/ASET images yet?

Post them up if you did :)

Don't discount any Stone until you have seen it (either through video & ASET, or with the naked eye, in different light environments). 2.5 isn't BAD, and should be further examined. ;)2

Hello,
Thanks for the feedback. The ideal scope for the purchase came in, and it appears to be pretty good in comparison to guidance charts online. Didn't pull the trigger on the second choice, as I would have to purchase it first to request a review, and go through the process of a return on either one. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

The ranges that DS posted up are ranges. But usually with a 35.5 Crown Angie, we would usually recommend a 40.6 pavilion. That’s probably the reason why the second stone had a HCA score above 2.

Thank you bmfang, there was also a reply on here from Katie, that I guess she removed. She wasn't sold on the table and angels and commented on the symmetry. To Matthews point I will further examine the 2nd choice, and keep on looking for a better option. Maybe she won't leave me by the time I find it :confused2:

Hi AdiSky, sorry, my comment was removed. I am new to posting here and must have said something wrong. I'm still learning:)
Maybe open up your search criteria a bit, down to J color. With an ideal cut diamond, you get more light return, the color grade isn't as apparent as it will be in a poorly cut diamond. I am super sensitive to color and I personally wear a J colored diamond.

Hi, seems like some comments are removed. Somebody hinted to confirm that the video is of the actual diamond.
That inclusion in ideal scope and cert isn't as visible in the video, but apparently it is a very clear inclusion.
Will look into the options more, or bump up the budget o_O

Hi,
After returning the above, I bumped up the budget to 8k and this is my latest purchase.

HCA 1.5 if % are used
HCA 2.6 if < are used
Appears to be eye clean and symmetry is better than my previous purchase. Could I get some feedback on the idealscope? Referencing to a chart appears to be very good, but unsure how to read the left hand side of the diamond and the less focused/milky arrows.
Thank you!3509271.jpg
