I''m about to go forward with the purchase of a 2 row eternity ring and need help with some questions. The cost is around $7,000.
- Is it common to put up half of cost and after the mold is made if for some reason I don''t want to go forward I get my money back less cost to make mold ($200-$300)?? Once I say go I''m on the hook and cannot return for any reason.
- I''m getting 10 pointers D-E VVS to VS. The jeweler said at this quality the cuts will be very good. They are all machine cut. Should I be concerned with machine cut? Obviously these stones are small so I don''t think it makes sense to insist on ideal cuts? I can''t imagine someone taking 10 pointers of this quality and doing a bad cut. Or can I.
- Once he goes forward and the diamonds are ordered I''m on the hook for the deal. But should I have the loose diamonds evaluated independently before making ring. Afterwards I can''t return it. Right? Even if I do assess stones before there is nothing preventing an unscrupulous soul from changing diamonds. Am I too paranoid? I think the jeweler is trustworthy. Any suggestions that make sense and might protect me a bit more?
As you can tell I''m a bit nervous about the purchase. Mostly about the fire and sparkle nocking my panse off. Thanks.
