I am about to be engaged and would like to have an Asscher cut diamond for the center stone on my ring. I am not diamond savvy at all and have just started researching the various diamonds and have fallen in love with the Asscher. I have found a diamond that I think fit’s the criteria I have been told to look for but I’m not sure. Does the following info sound like a good diamond or should I be looking for something else? If so, could you please explain so I can learn more. I would really appreciate any feed back both good or bad.

1. we can not help much from report stuff - we need photos and ideal-scope and aSET

2. you will see this is yellowish. Why not drop the clarity that you will not see to VS''ish and raise the colour?

Thanks for your reply. I will see if I can get a picture of the diamond. If I don''t want to spend more than 22K but would like to get a nice stone that is close to 2.5 carats what should I be looking for? What is most important in an asscher diamond, color or clairty?

Sad to say - both

in large stones like this VS2 is the safest, and can still be visible rarely.

And they show color rather well - I would look for G minimum and fluoro if you can in H plus is Ok
