Hi All,
I'm down to 2 CADS & I'm not sure which direction to move towards. What I'm grappling about are the 2 styles of side stone halo's. One CAD will show a V detail & the other will show no detail. The shank size, width, & depth are ok, the gallery & baskets are a keeper as well. Center halo melee are 1.8mm & side stone halo 1.5mm. Ring will be made in platinum. Ring size 6.25. Looks like a slight airline which I think is necessary to accommodate the center stone. This is a right hand ring, not an e-ring.
The ring with the side stone V's have a smaller stone in the corner , 1.3mm stones & I'm not sure it looks right. The center stone has a larger melee in the corner (1.9mm). I really like the look of the centre & looks more elongated & cushion-y than the other cads. I scrapped the other CADS cause they made the stones look too square, especially the center. The side stone stones are more or less square anyway.
I think I'm leaning toward the V detail on the side stone because it appeals to my sense of uniformity & balance. Opinions on this? Have I missed anything in terms of fluidity on the shank & how it meets up with the baskets? I apologize if the images are huge. I've been trying to resize & I think I suck at it. I've included the various inspirations that contributed to the ring.
Center stone size: 6.63 x 6.17
Side Stones (rounded off) 4.10 x 4
V's on Side Stones...

No V's....

Want smooth sides like this...He will need to adjust the CADS. I don't think the beading would look right if the prongs overlap the edges. Or should I just leave it the way it is?

The V detail comes from a Stuller pendant.

Side Detail. (found on DK's site. I know it's a PS'rs ring..shout out to the one who owns it.

Basket Inspiration is a Joseph Schubach Jewelers ring.

Thank you,
Judy
