Hi All,
I'm down to 2 CADS & I'm not sure which direction to move towards. What I'm grappling about are the 2 styles of side stone halo's. One CAD will show a V detail & the other will show no detail. The shank size, width, & depth are ok, the gallery & baskets are a keeper as well. Center halo melee are 1.8mm & side stone halo 1.5mm. Ring will be made in platinum. Ring size 6.25. Looks like a slight airline which I think is necessary to accommodate the center stone. This is a right hand ring, not an e-ring.
The ring with the side stone V's have a smaller stone in the corner , 1.3mm stones & I'm not sure it looks right. The center stone has a larger melee in the corner (1.9mm). I really like the look of the centre & looks more elongated & cushion-y than the other cads. I scrapped the other CADS cause they made the stones look too square, especially the center. The side stone stones are more or less square anyway.

I think I'm leaning toward the V detail on the side stone because it appeals to my sense of uniformity & balance. Opinions on this? Have I missed anything in terms of fluidity on the shank & how it meets up with the baskets? I apologize if the images are huge. I've been trying to resize & I think I suck at it. I've included the various inspirations that contributed to the ring.
Center stone size: 6.63 x 6.17
Side Stones (rounded off) 4.10 x 4

Want smooth sides like this...He will need to adjust the CADS. I don't think the beading would look right if the prongs overlap the edges. Or should I just leave it the way it is?

The V detail comes from a Stuller pendant.

Side Detail. (found on DK's site. I know it's a PS'rs ring..shout out to the one who owns it. :))

Basket Inspiration is a Joseph Schubach Jewelers ring.

Thank you,

I would do V's on the side stones. I think that it would really make the ring flow beautifully. Are you beading the top of the setting? If so, I'd bead the sides too.

Overall I think it's going to be a gorgeous ring!!

I think the little "v"s add interest. I would do it to the side stones also.

Love all your inspiration pieces!

Hi Ladies,

Thank you for weighing in. Sometimes I'm too much. :(2 And look for truthful words to keep me in line. Case in point, 2 weeks ago I was looking for spa like (soft turquoise) bedding, something to calm me down at the end of the day. I eyed a set I totally fell in love with, which by the way was nothing like I was looking for. I told my friends I became too Italian too fast & consulted with them. :lol-2: I told the Portuguese manager who laugher her a$$ off at me in a very understanding way. Encouraged I take the sample home & test drive it in the space which I did. Looked great & I ordered it.
Semi custom size duvet (darker version), semi custom length box pleat skirt, & regular shams with light print.

I suppose my idea of simple is the plain tri wire look of the shank. But I was afraid I would go to gaudy & not tasteful. Thanks for the validation. :-)

Does anyone find the smaller corner melee diamond odd for the side stones? I'll have to email DK to adjust the CAD with perhaps a 1mm larger stone for the side stone like he added a larger corner melee stone of 1.9mm. Maybe his intention was to prevent the shape of the side stone to look too square. I wish he would have communicated with me.

As a disclosure, when you want DK to design your ring, it's always a great idea to come up with as many details or elements & emphasize how & what & where & size you want in your initial email. ;))

Any other replies? I have to say I’m a bit dismayed st do few responses. Maybe people feel the CADS are good & no comment needed? I’d really like some feedback. :twirl:

I’ll try to communicate with DK again.
Thanks

I am horrible at reading CADs, but want to add that I love the v detail, and all the inspiration photos. I would go for the v's...but sadly can't help with the rest. I'm confident it will be gorgeous!
