What is your/WF's definition of a rail?
Am I wrong, or do those prongs look huge? Maybe it's just the angle, but they look like they are eating the diamond.
Hmmm...that seems kind of odd to me because its not a cathedral shank. Rails in just those areas are usually so the cathedral
shank has somewhere to land on (and not left just hanging in the air). Ask to see a CAD with the gallery rails in to see if you
like them are not. I've seen a lot of 6 prongs that do not have rails. I mean, sure, more metal is always going to be "safer".
BTW...how thick is the band? It looks incredibly thin.
Edit...here is a 6 prong at JA. Granted the prongs at 3 and 9 have a little more support from the shank.

Is this being custom made by Whiteflash? Did you request the shank be that thin? I would personally prefer at least 2 mm. Not sure why they are suggesting bars on a six prong setting. The head looks more like a peg head - not integrated into the shank. I would be more concerned about the whole head popping off if hit right rather than the prong work around the diamond itself. Ask Whiteflash about all of it as I know they will explain their reasoning.
@muffins I personally prefer the CADs they sent better than your inspiration pic. I love the swoopy prongs and the semi-integrated head as opposed to it just set on top of the band. I would also bump up the width to 2mm, at least, as I think it would be structurally sounder. As for the rail between the prongs…I have it for my 3 carat six prong and I don’t find that it detracts and it does make me feel more secure. Not sure you need it though.
My son bought a custom ering from WF and it just makes the whole process easier. Otherwise you’re mailing your precious diamond around. Btw, my DIL’s ring is really beautiful! Can’t wait to see the finished product. Good luck!
I agree with @Slickk. I would definitely work this out with Whiteflash. They will work with you and it is so much easier this way. I too love their swoops prongs but would definitely consider making the ring 2 mm. I understand wanting a thin band to make the stone pop but a 3 carat diamond will still stand out on a thicker band. Just get in touch with your rep and ask about the band and the the rail. Can’t wait to see your finished ring!
@MissGotRocks apologies but what do you guys mean by swoop prongs ?
