If you want us to really tell you anything about the $8000 one, you''ll have to ask the vendor to provide a picture and Aset image.

By the way, not all of the vendors in the PS search engine above are trusted vendors. You should look around PS for what others are saying about each vendor. I''d also, however, take that $8000 one to an independent appraiser too. There''s only so much we can tell you about a diamond, which is priced significantly below its peers.

WIDSMI - none of us have seen the ring, so none of us know that there is something wrong with the stone or the ring.


Our concern is that the price is extremely low for a well-cut stone of this size, colour, and clarity by GIA or AGS standards, and fantastic deals in diamonds are few and far between. The odds are against you finding one, so it''s very likely this stone is poorly cut and of low colour and clarity - but, again, you could be one of the lucky few and the pictures just aren''t great.


If there''s a good return policy you might consider buying it and taking a look in person: just be sure to compare to some AGS0 princesses locally (AGS is the only lab that will give princesses a cut grade) so you have a fair point of comparison.

I really suggest you do not buy from this vendor as they seem to be trying to sell you something that isn''t as good as they suggest, hence the price being so low for a 2.5ct princess. If it were me I would looks elsewhere, take in the suggestions of the more experienced diamond buyers on this board and see what comes up! Good luck.

I need some help with this ring... It''s a 2.51 I VS2 EGL... Band SES 1.25 Carat cushion total... This price is 10,500 for the diamond and 3,300 for the band.... Is this a good price? Haven''t seen the stone is person.. I will go this weekend but this is the pic they sent me.... The store is a very well know local store...been here for 30yrs....

To be honest this does not look like a good stone and you will get what you pay for.....This Princess isn''t square as the shape looks off, it looks tinted ( although can''t say for sure from a photo but it has to be mentioned) and the cut looks bad. Its up to you but I would advise taking your budget and buying something smaller and better cut, a smaller stone that is better cut will look far more impressive than a lifeless rock sitting on the finger.

ok... thanks for all the response... what about this... the store has a 30 day money back no qestions asked.. in writing.... so my plan should be... If I like the diamond in person... buy it... take it to get it appraised and if something turns outr to be not true I should return it.... does that sound like a plan?

I guess that''s a plan that is no risk for you. For me, there is a resounding consensus that the diamond is not a good one based on the photo and some basic facts like it''s not even square. I don''t like wasting my time and money for an appraisal so I would likely not even make a purchase. Keep in mind - appraisers vary greatly so make sure you find a good one. Also, try to make your way to a high end store to see what a nicer princess actually looks like. This way you can draw some real perspectives. Most diamonds will appear beautiful (granted .. not the ones that look like frozen spit) until you see well cut ones.

Like others have said, deals are rare in the diamond world especially when you are purchasing from a vendor. Second hand or eBay .. deals can be found.

Honestly, I would pass on this one. It does not look like a well cut princess at all. You can do so much better! Why not check out some ACA princess cuts from Whiteflash, just to compare? You''ll really be able to see the difference!

Ditto that, try Jareds if there is one in your area for their AGS0 cut grade Princess.

I guess you could do that, but I think your time will be better spent finding a well cut stone from a different vendor. I wouldn''t deal with that vendor at all.
