I would like to know what VALUE is better... I can buy both but which diamond do you think is a better value for the $$$ and which one would you get....would you be able to tell a diff in a 2.5 princess compared to a 2.6 ??

E color SI1 . diamond that is 2.60 ct princess. at $13,900.

2.51 ct I VS 2 princess for $10,500

Both have very good cuts...

You will not be able to tell the size difference I suspect. What is the mm difference?

Are they graded by AGS? If not, then be aware that there is no other lab that has a systematic method for grading the cut quality of princess cuts. So if these diamonds are being represented as having an official cut grade, be wary.

Well ... by just going on the info above.... which do you think is the best value..

I emailed the dealer for the info you requested and specs.... it may be a day or two before I hear back

It is very hard to talk about value without knowing the cut quality. And value is subjective. There is a search funtion above that allows you to search for simialar diamond and that will tell you whether or not those prices are fair, one type of value.

I personally value color over clarity so would prefer an E to an I. But is that worth the price difference? I don''t know.

If it were me I would look for a diamond certed by AGS with an ideal cut grade in G color and SI clarity. To me, THAT is the best value.

this is what she said so far..... what do you think?

We use GIA, EGL and AGS.The majority of our diamonds are GIA graded. Our EGL diamonds of the same color and clarity grade are generally priced better. We have few AGS stones because AGS wants the stores that they work with to be AGS member stores. Our head gemologist is AGS certified but we choose not to be an AGS store. They prefer an exclusive arrangement and we are too big of a distribution company to only use one laboratory. I am off today, so I can get you measurements when I get in tomorrow. Regards,

base on the prices you posted... i''ll put up my $100 to your $1 that these are EGL graded stones.

She is smoking you.

EGL is discounted in trade, because even vendors do not trust the grades given by EGL so they always assume it is lower by a grade or 2 depending on which EGL lab it comes from, and buy it as such, so of course it is price better. Do you think if an EGL stone can get the same grade with GIA and sell for a better price the vendor would not send it to GIA? The grading fee is relatively low for an large increase in selling price.

AGS does not work that way.

Complete c*r*a*p. When a jeweler is selling a line like that, I wouldn''t buy anything else they were selling.

go with dreamers choices...run from that jeweler!

here are the specs

2.60 E SI1 measures 7.37 x 7.66 x 5.59mm

she told me it is GIA graded

GIA graded? Ask her for the cert number and we can take a look at it.

I just did a quick search above for similar GIA graded diamonds and they are selling online for around 20k, these prices are extremely cheap which to me is questionable. There could be various reasons for this such as the diamonds not actually being GIA graded or just being graded by a GIA trained gemologist which is not the same as a lab report, the diamonds might not be eyeclean and or could be very badly cut, there could be all sorts of scenarios.

The thing is though that we can't tell anything about the cut quality without more info such as images unfortunately. Will you be seeing these stones in person?
