Help with 0.9 diamond

Hi All

I've got little jewelry knowledge, but I really like to seek your advice on getting an engagement ring for my girlfriend.

I would like to get a round diamond that is at least 0.9ct big with the best shine and sparkle possible but within a tight budget of 5k.

The first two are going to be beautiful. I'd pass on the fourth, and the third scores as a FIC (firey ideal cut) so it's going to have more fire than overall 'white light.'

Maybe this one, if the inclusions aren't an issue? It gets you over the carat mark.

Thanks for the recommdantion. GOG seems like a good and reputable vendor. Do you think that diamond from GOG is eye clean?
If it's eye clean, the inclusions wouldnt be visible to the human eye right?

I found these 2 eye cleaned and AGs certified diamonds, do you think they are also good options?

They are still colorless diamonds. They just exhibit a blue glow when exposed to a black light, UV. And they are both medium blue anyway.
If you are dropping to J color, you'd better get a carat! If you are at 90 points, then I recommend H or better color. It's about trade offs.

I would NOT advise under a carat and I or J color. Because at that size, you can afford higher color.

What ring setting would you recommend to go along with these diamonds if I have a tight budget of about less than 1k?

My girlfriend doesn't know anything about diamond rings and never wears one at all. I guess a slim ring will be good as it can make the diamond stand out and create the illusion of a bigger diamond.

In that case, and this is just my personal opinion, I'd hit the 1 carat mark, I+ color, in a platinum solitaire. Where the solitaire comes from may depend on which diamond you choose.

i like that I SI1 from GOG alot (eb's suggestion)

I would even say thats a steal from GOG.
I dont see its gonna be listed for too long.

Mount it on a simple white gold or platinum setting

Apparently that diamond is out of house so there's no way to know if its eye clean hmm... this is hard to decide

Not knowing doesn't mean she doesn't have an opinion or preferences. You need to check to see if she has a pinterest account and talk to her sister, mother, cousin, best friend to see that she wants.

then, I would go with one. I know it is slightly above your 5k budget. But this is a good diamond. 5k is a popular budget and a diamond like don't get listed for too long. Going slightly above 5k budget really helps.

I had a similar budget, I settled down with 0.9 J VS1. The diamond is fantastic and beautiful, she loves it. There is no yellow tint whatsover, except from a weird angle at a certain light condition.

But I regret sometimes.
It is a psychological thing; 1.0 I VS2 would have made me more proud of myself. But it is hard to ignore the value a 90 pointer gives you. It is tough.

and talk to your partner to see what she wants.
Take her to a local mall and try different styles. It is a fun date.
