Hello! First ,I would like to thank you guys for so much helpful information but with that comes lots of thinking and rethinking :)) a couple of years ago ,I didn’t know much about diamonds ,so I did my first “big”diamond purchase ,only knowing that I need to get all that excellent criteria! I enjoyed my diamond before I found that forum and started to dig into all the parameters and characteristics it’s 60/60 diamond with great HCA score of I guess 1.3 . I purchased it pre owned ,so I didn’t pay crazy amount for it ,just around 3500$,i was thinkE91562D8-7DE9-408C-84D6-62EA0AAA7832.jpeging I got pretty much good deal on it :)) i recently have been thinking to reset it in 3 stone ring ,but It made me wonder if maybe sell it and purchase that super ideal stone I am not that great on finds ,so I guess the best I can do is like 0.80 -0.90 carat ,so it’s a huge drop after having that 1.20 stone . Please ,advise me what should I do ?or it’s just too much information and my stone is still pretty good!? I am gonna attchch the certificate picts! Thank you !!!! 84707E36-DEF4-4633-A183-84861F3959FA.jpeg67785976-C1AC-4F28-BB2E-D09B3E523AFA.jpeg

.

Any 'arrows' pattern face-up ?

I wouldn't toss a diamond without. IHMO, the optical pattern are the great good thing about the very precisely cut diamonds ... aside brlliance, which works well even without & should be quite good enough by those numbers.

Keep the stone.
It is a decent 60/60 and you paid a bargain price.
Thank you for your opinion !i just got overwhelmed with all that Ideal stone requirements!and feels like ppl are gonna judge you that your stone is not to perfect angels and you did bad

I agree with @flyingpig that you got a great price that you won't repeat or do better when selling. If you like this diamond, keep it.

Give it's proportions and lower crown angle, you might consider pairing it with non-rounds.

I never thought of pairing it with that diamond shape !very true !i guess I can try to sell it for the same price ,but all pre owned stones I saw with little bit bit better angels are over 5-6 thousands and when I compare ,they look almost identical .

I see very distinct arrows face up ! Compare it to my pendant ,hats is 0.60 carat Brian Gavin Signature stone when I also got pre owned they behave very alike ,in all different lighting situations ,maybe the only differntce that the arrows are more sharp in Brian Gavin stone. But that keeps me wonder if that worth spending 3-4 thousand $ more for sharper look that you have to stear at it,particulars look for it . I live in Houston , so I was thinking maybe stop by Whiteflash or Brian Gavin and maybe recut the stone ,but I don’t know if that worth it

I read & replied to @nala 's thread, also about a recut, still half-thinking about your diamond ! (in the wee hours ... )

To me, contemplating a recut would be too much fun ... to have a reasonable opinion on the 'worth it' question.

I am not a fan of recutting a shallow stone (60/60). You lose too much carat weight and stone. 59/32/41 is fine. Considering the price you paid, you did extremely well.

Seriously, if I was offered the exact stone (assuming eye clean with no leakage) at 3.5k, I would have gone for it, instead my 0.9 J VS1.

I think you best option is to keep and love it or sell it. I agree that a recut on a stone this depth to get to "ideal" would likely end up exactly where you said you'd be with a sale and new diamond at sub-1 carat. Given the spread of this stone, the visual loss will be very obvious.

I like what others are saying. If it’s a pretty stone, and it sounds like it is, then you might be much happer with it than a « super ideal » that is smaller.
Can you go to a local shop and compare something like a Hearts on Fire in the smaller range and see the two side by side? In varous lighting conditions? Always easier to make a decision with the hard facts in front of you, but your current diamond sounds like a keeper.

I did that ! I compared it to my friend 0.70 hearts on Fire :) and they looked the same ,maybe if you look under microscope, you will see the difference, but to normal human ,they alike . I guess it’s just in my mind bcs I know that numbers , and you under appreciate it . Like my husband says ,everybody sees the size to his eyes my stone even looked better than heart on Fire one

I find it odd that no one has brought up the clarity. SI2 is pretty included, either with inclusions you can see, or with lack of brightness. We haven't seen a picture of the actual stone. That said, it would be hard to sell an SI2 stone, so you might as well keep it and enjoy it.

Thank your advice !!! Thats exactly what I was reading about that shallower stones ,not too much room to play with . I just think we r all spoiled here ,when I look on eBay ,when ppl sell their |-1,-2 stones with horrible stats and payed 7-8-9 thousands ,when they didn’t know much about stones ,I think I did pretty awesome for the first big purchase . Please ,tell me how is your stone set ?? Solitare or 3 stone ??or halo? I was thinking about getting that ideal stone and put in halo ,i tried that style ,but afraid it’s gonna be constant scare to lose stones and if replacing them ,then they may mismatch I guess I am just thinking too much

I have eagle eyes lol ,no it’s clean to naked eye ,it just have tiny white christal inclusions when you look at it at x30 magnifications , and I guess it’s got it si-2 for having “natural”inclusion ,but it’s a tiny line which is covered by a prong ! I will def snap some pictures today !!:))

Wear what you love, love what you wear.
The keyword is "YOU"
That is the answer to the question.

I put it in my daughter play dough  to imagine how it will look as a 3 stone :))) also I have an option to use my other stones, the bottom ring is 0.80 f color Brian Gavin super ideal with two sides of around 0.45 and 0.47 blue Nile signature ideals ,I need to photograph them better :roll which I was thinking to make an earrings from , but can use as a sides :)tell me what you think !!4D2AB841-A418-479C-B897-FB04FBF658EE.jpegDA7B8B93-B3A6-422A-B6D4-DF6DE77C2F58.jpeg

These photos reaffirm what I said. Keep it or reset it. I would not recut or sell it.

I like the proportions using the smaller pair. Agree with others...keep your diamond.

Thank you !i need an expert opinion to help me with that decision ;-);-) I just got overwhelmed with all the info and I felt like I will be judged by “ society “ that I kept not so ideal stone :))) sometimes we just get influenced by the crowd ☺️☺️☺️

Yeah I was reading a lot about the proportions , most ppl suggested to at least 0.50 each ,but I tried that option and it’s overwelmed the stone .
