I've been researching cushion cut diamonds and have read many of the threads here. I tried to look for 8 thin mains and H&As but there aren't much out there right now. Based on my criteria, these are the 5 chunky options I could find that seem interesting. Given all the expertise on here, I would love to pick your brains and get your thoughts on which one you think is the best option. If you have suggestions of other stones to consider, I'm all ears. Thanks so much for your insight and input!!

By the way, here's the GIA for #2 and #3.

Not gonna lie, I don't really like any of them. If I had to pick amongst the ones listed, I'd probably gravitate to the one from adiamor.

Must it hit the 2 carat range? I take it $20k is your budget range. Would you consider VS2 or possibly a SI-1?

BGD has a 1.850 select cushion. It's D, but a SI-1

There is also a 1.720 F VS2, but that may be smaller than what you are looking for.

I'd reach out to Distinctive Gem about a cushion. I came across this, but there is no video. https://www.distinctivegem.com/apps/vdb-app/search-filters?structure=new&proids=32988323&structure=new

I'm sure the more seasoned cushion veterans will chime in.

Yimmers,

Thank you for taking a look! Honesty is much appreciated - I'd rather have honesty than regret spending money on a stone that I'm not excited about. I'll take a look at the one from BGD and reach out to Distinctive Gem. Isn't Jon from GOG at Distinctive Gem now?

Thanks again!!

NP. Yes, Jon runs Distinctive Gem and is a regular on the forums here. I'm sure he will be happy to help out. He will also be able to provide videos, asets, etc. on diamonds in house.

I am farrrrr from an expert on diamond cuts, especially on cushions, but I personally liked these options that are at or near your budget

This one is personally my favorite - has a huge spread and I like the chunky facets and more rectangular shape but that's 1000% a personal thing: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/2.01-carat-g-color-vs1-clarity-sku-12264186

A lovely square more crushed ice look: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/2.02-carat-g-color-vvs2-clarity-sku-13370381

Medium fluorescence but I like the look of the cut here https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/2.11-carat-g-color-vvs1-clarity-sku-9502329

The most important thing will be to see one with your own eyes and make sure you like it in person, and see if you can get an aset for the one you choose before purchase! As you know, these fancy shapes are hard to judge online.

Thanks EClove! The first one you sent looks good, except I'm hoping for a more square look. I like the third but not the fluorescence. Now if we can combine them... ;-)

This one is a little bit over your budget, and can't see a video but I would trust @Rhino's opinion and I'm sure you can get a video!

Alternatively he has some really beautiful lab cushion options!
