Bow-ties are usually considered black. The center area like in the stone OP posted and the stone SimoneD posted DO reflect like well and DO sparkle well.
The main issue is that in those 2 stones the faceting pattern may not feather out well where it goes from an area of larger facets (center area...bow-tie if you
wish) to areas of smaller facets that do not reflect light as well. This IMO can only be determined by seeing the stone rotate. Unlike rounds, static pictures
for ovals only tell part of the story. Its being able to watch the stone rotate and see if the facets that do not reflect light well straight on end up "turning on" as the stone rotates.
