Hi guys, I'm looking for a fluorescent diamond (I think it glowing blue in the dark to be a really cool effect) around 0.75 to 0.90 for an engagement ring. Colour could be I, H, G. Clarity VS2-VS1.

I found these 2 and would like a diamond comparison from the experienced in this forum and perhaps to judge which is the better value for money. Both are GIA graded.

Diamond 1:

Price: C$4,340
Bank wire price: C$4,275
Carat weight: 0.81
Cut: Ideal
Colour: H
Clarity: VS1
Depth %: 60.3%
Table %: 58%
Crown Angle: 32.5
Pavilion Angle: 41.2
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: Thin to Medium
Culet: None
Fluorescence: Medium Blue

HCA: 1.8

Diamond 2:

Price: C$3,601
Bank wire price: C$3,547
Carat weight: 0.80
Cut: Ideal
Colour: I
Clarity: VS1
Depth %: 59.6%
Table %: 59%
Crown Angle: 33.0
Pavilion Angle: 41.0
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: Thin to Medium
Culet: None
Fluorescence: Strong Blue

HCA: 1.0

Hi hi, not an expert here, but i think it would help if you can post the ASET and Idealscope image for the stones. You may request the vendor to provide you these images. ;)

They both sound pretty good and worth looking into - any pictures?

And the fluorescence will glow in UV/black light - I just bought a ring with strong blue here is a pic for fun.

Edit -I am a diamond newbie too but IMO the second stone seems like a much better deal. It seems to have better spread and may be larger than stone 1 in appearance. Unless the H color is super important to you I like the "I" color and with the fluorescence it may look like a higher color grade. Just my thoughts. :)

I don't have pictures nor the ASET and Idealscope. They are not provided.

Fluorescence is a huge plus for me but I'm undecided between medium and strong. Does it really make the stone milky? Or are modern grading/cutting good enough?

So diamond 2 is the better choice?

have you looked at the BGD Blue line?

I have. With my budget, I am only able to afford a 0.732 from them. They have excellent characteristics but are pricier...

Any other retailer with a similar "Blue" line?

.732 is really not far off from the .75 minimum carat range you I Italy stated. BGD also has a great upgrade policy if that is something you would consider in the future.
