Hi all,
Im new to this thread. Just wondering if i can get your opinion on this diamond please.

Carat 1.21, F colour, 3 excellent, vs2
Depth 62%
Table 57%
Crown angle 35 degree
Pavilion angle 41 degree

However, the hca score is 2.4. Is this a diamond that i should avoid? Any potential light leakage? Thanks in advance! :geek2:

Hi Jesslee, welcome!
It looks good to me.Do you have the ASET and Ideal Scope image on this diamond? Also don't forget to share the cert as well.=)2

HCA is just an elimination or prediction tool. You need to use the light performance scope (ASET) to check yah.

Hi Jessie,

I wouldn't buy this diamond without an ASET or Idealscope image, the proportions are risky being borderline steep deep and the angle averages which is GIA's method, means we have no idea whether the stone leaks light, or how much. It could be perfectly fine depending on a few other factors but it might not.

Do you have any others in mind?

Hi all,

Thanks for your reply. Im really contemplating if i should get this coz the price is really good - probably due to the light leakage which you guys have mentioned and also because it has strong flourence.. Alright,i think will continue my diamond hunting =)2

What @ac117 said. With GIA rounding (particularly on CA’s), the risk of steep-deep is something to take note of when you see a 35/41 angle combo on a report (even 35.5/40.6).

I think you're wise, I'm always leery of these with GIA rounding without images to check the stone out properly. If the vendor can provide an image then fine, if not, put this one on the back burner.
