Hi,

Please advise on the following diamond. Unfortunately, no Ideal or ASET scope images available.

HCA score 0.9.

82C74E04-BE2F-4649-9F8A-856FA0CF64F1.jpeg6184EF7E-0CFB-40C8-9E94-2F19F329B46B.jpeg

Thanks for the advise in advance.

Con: Noticeable optical asymmetry. Not uniform arrows. Wonky and uneven pavilion.

Pro: little light leakage. Still top quality GIA XXX

Cut quality compromised to acheive the 1.75 c mark. Still, decent choice if price is right and you are shopping for a high clarity and color diamond.

Thank you. Will the cons be noticeable in real life/to the naked eye?

Will this combo cause obstruction issues?

Yes, those flaws will be noticeable IRL to the naked eye. This does not necessarily mean it will not be pretty.

This combo does not have any obstruction issues.

Thanks. The price is around $33k USD. Would you recommend to proceed with the purchase? I’m worried that the cons would cause obvious bad H&A and/or reduction in scintillation in real life. Please advise.

I cannot advice you whether or not you should proceed and spend your hard-earned 33k. It is out of my comfort zone. I am just a stranger on the internet.

I can try to assess the diamond objectively.
1. It is GIA XXX with no fluo, HCA less than 2.0, and ideal proportions.
2. Optimal symmetry is not perfect, and the pavilion is cut unevenly.
3. No detrimental leakage based on the photo. The IS is needed to confirm.
4. Generally speaking, the cut quality of the diamond is acceptable or "alright" to some PSers, while many may reject it.
5. However, in the world of 1.7ct D IF, it is a well cut. There aren't that many D IF diamonds to choose from
6. Price is reasonable, but not attractive (slightly on the high side).
