Hi all,

I am looking for a cushion cut diamond for an engagement ring. I have posted a few times and found the forum very helpful. I received the following 3 ASET images and am looking to narrow down my choice to the best one for a ring. I am hoping one of the 3 will prove to be a great choice. I am leaning towards 513980 or 211973.

Thank you for any help!

Diamond 211973 ($13,320) - This was the JA gemologist favorite. I like it but I am concerned with the smudges and dots on the face in the picture on the website. Could this just be the camera they took the picture with?

Here is the style for the setting I was planning on but was considering going to a local jeweler to have it set.

For Diamond 211973 I think those are the inclusions that are plotted on the GIA report.

I like diamond 1 but am not sure that it will be eye clean in person.

I am nervous it will not be eye clean in person. Do you like diamond 2 at all? Here was the report I received from their gemologist. The statement "appears eye clean" vs "its eye clean" makes me think it will not be eye clean but I am by no means an expert. I would assume for an engagement ring I would want eye clean?

Statement when I received the ASET images.

You’ll be glad to know that diamond 211973 ($13,320) is very eye catching and offers excellent fire, brilliance, and scintillation! In comparison to your other diamond, this one is the “rock star.” It has an attractive shape, an icy white color, and appears eye clean.

Diamond 513980 ($13,780) is a beautiful option as well and is very bright and lively. When compared alongside your other diamonds, it’s your second brightest option. The gemologist went on to say that it’s eye clean, possesses a true “H” color, and has an attractive shape.

Diamond 400068 ($12,307) is ranked third for light performance and is very bright in its own right. Its cut is attractive, and as you’d expect, it’s eye clean and has a true “F” color.

Ask JA whether it is eye clean from 6 inches away vs 12 inches away. Diamond 2 has a distinct X or + pattern, depending on which way you tilt the cushion, which some may or may not find attractive.

If eyeclean, this would be my choice:

Faces up large, high color, beautiful facet pattern. Might be slightly out of your budget though. Of the choices you have, I prefer Diamond 1. Best of luck and post photos afterwards!

I would agree with JA, I like the first one best (aset & real life). So long as its eye clean, Id go for that one.
