My current budget is $20k - $25k, we want 2.0 Carat and for rest, we just want the level which human eye cannot tell the difference. so our choices are like:

1) Cut
a) Excellent
or b) Very Good

2) Clarity
VVS1/VVS2

3) Color -
a) F with Fluorescence NONE/FAINT
or b) G/H with Fluorescence Medium.

can anyone help recommend some diamonds? your help is much appreciated!

Does your budget include the setting or diamond-only?

If you want to spend money on the things that you can see you probably want to prioritize cut (at least 3x or AGS000) and then drop down to VS1/VS2 clarity and maybe even I color, unless you think you are very color sensitive.

diamond only.

thanks for the quick reply!

yes, thanks. we value cut most.

While the size of that “J” at the price point it’s offered looks appealing, it has no fluorescence (which was asked for with G/H), so IF the wearer is color sensitive and doesn’t like tint, they may not be happy with it, even with the leap in size.

@delusion are you the intended wearer, or do you have any indications of how color sensitive the wearer is? Would he/she mind a little body color in a diamond? There is some additional value you can get going lower, but the wearer really needs to be okay with it. If this is a surprise, and/or you’re unsure, I’d personally play it safe and stick with your original F-H color range. And that’s coming from someone who actually likes lower-color diamonds. :wavey:

oh, thanks for remindering. yes, we would like color H/G or above.

Do you need fluorescence? I'm a little unclear...

Yes, why do you want fluorescence?

If you are worried a G/H or even an I will look yellow unless it has fluorescence, it won't provided you stick with ideal cut stones.

Diamonds are graded for color face down. That's now how you wear a diamond. You wear it face up. So the only tint you'll see is a slight bit when it is set, depending on how open your setting is.

What kind of setting does the wearer want?

we prefer :

1) GIA Excellent cut or AGS Ideal cut
2) 2.0 Carat or above
3) VS1 or above
4) F-G-H color is fine, for fluorescence, we would prefer none or faint

thanks !

$$ With setting or without?

Yes, just to restate a 1.96 carat and a 2.01 carat are going to look for all intents and purposes exactly the same size.
Yet, the price changes up and up as you hit 2.0 carats.
So it’s 2 carats if anyone asks because no-one is going to pull out their digital caliper and check.
If they do, stick it up their nostril! :naughty:

:lol:Bron!!

thanks. we discussed and she is ok with 1.9 and above carat.

i searched wf, and found this one:
https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3956078.htm

it this one good? or can u recommend more?
here is setting:

1) GIA Excellent cut or AGS Ideal cut
2) 1.9 Carat or above
3) VS1 or above
4) F-G-H color is fine, for fluorescence, we would prefer none or faint

thanks

Then from WF, I think that leaves these two options: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/compare.aspx?idnos=3956080,3907532

If you are okay going a smidge < the 2 carat mark, it’ll open up more options.
