Hi, I'm having my ering reset into a cushion shape halo using my round stone for the center. I want minimal light/spacing between the halo and center stone. To accomplish this would you suggest using different size melee on the corners or keep everything uniform with the understanding that there may be a very slight gap.

As usual DS2006 is correct.........SK and ERD also do the work.
Best of luck.

The ring is being done by ERD and it's almost done. I love the ring from the pics I saw but had a minor concern that there might be too much of a gap for my liking and wanted to understand if a potential solution would be to use slightly larger melee on the corners versus having it all the same size. I was just curious if anyone else had a similar issue and how they solved for it. ERD has been nothing but great but I want do make sure I'm completely happy.

I would not use different size melee for the corners of the halo. Now that I have a cushion halo with round center stone, I personally think the different size would ruin the look and look a bit odd. I actually think ERD did a great job minimizing the gap on my ring. I don't notice it and I absolutely love the uniformity of the diamonds in the halo. Did you end up going with the "legacy" bright cut setting? If so, there is naturally a little metal showing in the halo, so the gap will be less noticeable. Keep in mind though, the cushion halo won't change the fact that the center stone is round! I can't wait to see the finished ring!! I am sure it will be gorgeous!

Hi Tweeter8177 - I was hoping you would respond with your feedback since I did end up moving forward with a legacy style ring. My only concern right now is what looks to be a slight gap. It's so hard to tell by one picture that's on angle. I'm happy to hear that the gap is minimal and you don't even notice it. That makes me feel so much better about potentially leaving the design as is. The only other suggestion ERD had was to raise the center stone so it covers the gap. I don't want my center stone higher so I doubt I would move forward with that option. When you say there's some metal do you think there's too much?

Do you still love your ring?

Based on the one image do you think I should have the top adjusted or leave as is?

I think the metal you are noticing is because the ring is super magnified. When I mentioned metal, I was referring to the metal you are going to see around the edges (miligrain) and the inner wall. Since there is the miligrain, you are going to see a little metal surrounding the melee, which just naturally "hides" the gap if that makes sense. To your question, yes I still love my ring! It is SOOOOO blingy! All I see is diamonds! Also, the outer wall/miligrain is much more discreet than I expected (a good thing). I am actually wearing it as an ering more than I expected and I constantly stare at it! If I had to change one thing it would be a bit more rounded at the corners, but I think you got yours right.

I assume the picture is of the final ring? I don't know that they could alter it at this point without making a new ring? Regardless, I would not alter it! I would see it in person and I am sure you will love it!

It is probably fine, but under no circumstances would that particular picture be helpful in evaluating what you are concerned about. You have to have a straight head-on shot to have any idea.

Sorry I didn't realize in your initial post that the ring was already being made!

Hi JLFG - Did you get your ring yet? I know you had concerns so I am really, really
hoping you love it! Would love an update or pictures! :D
