Hello,

I put a deposit for an AGS tripl 0 1.778 ct D SI2 (all the inclusions are white and eye clean from a regular viewing distance) yesterday. It was a beautiful stone, but I am worried about the big table. Is 59.6% too big? Depth is 59.1%, crown angle is 33.4 and pavilion angle is 40.7. Please let me know what you think.

Scores a 1.2 on the HCA.

That's a "60/60" cut, which can be quite beautiful. If it is an AGS 000 it has already verified as having great light performance. If you like the way it looks then go for it!

I agree with ecf, but I prefer a higher crown and smaller table. Finding an eyeclean SI2 isn't easy, though, so you are doing well to find one, although you are combining a really high color with a low clarity. I'd rather have an F-G-H VS stone, personally.

>Lane,

Thank you for posting the HCA result. It scored well.

>ecf,
I had never heard of 60/60 and did a quick search now. I guess it's not a bad stone if I don't mind less fire. Thank you!

>diamondseeker,
I was looking for an F/G and SI1, but this is what Yekutiel came up within my budget. I guess I don't mind D. SI2 is not something I was comfortable with, but with an eye clean appearance and a great proce ($13700), I can't complain. Yekutiel said he doesn't have any more stones now. Maybe it's better to wait... Thank you for your help!

I am sure Yekutiel can find you a great stone! Ask him for pictures of this stone, top magnified view and side profile view and post them here. It would help to see the pictures.

Some people actually prefer a 60/60 cut. They have the advantage of a larger spread, so they tend to face up larger than a more Tolk cut. I prefer a tiny table and high crown because I really like fire, but you also sacrifice face up size with this combo. AGS has already determined that this stone has ideal light performance, and Yekutiel evidently agrees. I think it would be worth ordering and taking a look at for yourself. It may be exactly what you are looking for. If you want to post your requirements, others may have suggestions for you too.

diamondseeker and Christina,

Both of you helped me when I started this thread the other day.

I decided to pass on the 2 carat because the huge black carbon bothered me. The 2.02 was not as good as the D color stone when viewed with idealscope which Yekutiel agreed. One cloud was blocking light somehow and there was a dark spot under the table. I live in NYC and saw those stones in person.

I'm comfortable spending up to $18000 right now. I'm open to D-G color, prefer an eye clean SI1, 1.7 carat +, and do not mind fluorescence at all. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Thank you very much for helping me again!
