My partner and I have just chosen a centre diamond for e-ring but I need some advice on the setting. Specs on the diamond are:

RB 0.80ct
5.94-5.95 x 3.70mm
GIA Triple Ex
E SI2 eyeclean

I have a small finger (4.5-4.75) so I didn't want to go OTT with size, but am considering a halo for a little extra bling

Could you give your thoughts on what would look best with a smallish diamond

I LOVE risingsun's halo w/ miligrain

And frankies VC shallow u-cut halo---

Love frankie's profile--but I want the wedding band to sit flush---can this be accomplished with a smaller donut? Or is there another way to achieve this look?

What do you think would look better with my .80ct

--or should I just keep it simple and without a halo and set it with a pave band?

I'll be sitting with the designer in Sydney on Thurs to finalise the setting

Thoughts/advice is much appreciated!

I think that a halo would be lovely! I like both of the styles that you posted, but think that Frankie's is a bit more timeless. As for wearing a wedding band with it (and having it sit flush), it can be done, but if you plan to wear a band with dimonds in it, you'll need to wear a thin spacer band between the two so that the diamonds don't rub against one another. The metal will wear down that way and you'll start losing stones. Most people get a 1mm spacer band and they aren't even noticable. Have you seen examples of your jeweler's work? It takes a pretty skilled bench to pull off a ring like Frankie's and we've seen quite a few people post here with examples of rings that have tried to copy that look and not succeeded to the satisfaction of the owner. I'm not trying to rain on your parade, I just want to make sure that you know your jeweler could execute this design to your satisfaction.

Hi there! :wavey:

Not sure if you like this design, but here is an example of a ring with a round center, milgrained halo that could probably accommodate a wedding band to sit flush

But it is true.. hard to find one that can accommodate a WB

That was the exact one I was thinking of. Sits exactly flush, and has that same type of millgrained halo.

That's very pretty! Who makes that one?

I think it is Ritani, from the endless love collection. I think it is really lovely! I would totally put my oval in one anytime!

Oh it's stunning! Thanks for the link!
