So I’m 99% sure I’m going to pull the trigger on a 2ct chunky old miner. A bit of a backstory- I was originally planning on selling a solitaire that I have to purchase a larger chunkier stone and set it the same way- 18k yellow gold crown setting. Anyways my ring hasn’t sold and I’ve come across a chunky wonky warm old miner that makes my heart sing. The price is such that I can keep my other ring and buy the larger stone. Now I have no idea how to set it. I obviously want something different than my other ring. I’m a very indecisive person. I need help, opinions, advice. I’ll post the stone and some of my ideas. 18C170F6-5FAA-4E4D-8B2C-95DA571AB778.jpeg

Ideas: another 8 prong but in white gold. Brushed finish collet set. Bezel solitaire- either thin or chunky.

The first two are my favorite setting ideas. I love the stone. Congratulation!

I also like the first two. And I think that if you went with number 3, but used the brushed yellow gold from number 5, that might be nice, too. I don't think you could go wrong with such a beautiful diamond!

I love the Old World Diamond setting. The bezel setting will protect the stone. It’s all personal opinion. How is your other ring set @Mjay? It would be nice to have them set differently to switch things up. You can’t go wrong with whatever you decide. The stone is gorgeous.

I like 1 & 2, in that order.

Thank you everyone! A sweet pricescope member snagged my gorgeous antique solitaire last minute so the new stone will officially be getting the same dress. Make my decision easy. Definitely missing my other ring but excited to spam you all with my gorgeous new ring pop stone

That's a beautiful stone. Love the pillowy facets. Can't wait to see how you set it!

I just got my stone and omg it’s everything I could ever dream of. Super warm, chunky, and slightly wonky just like I had hoped! Its the perfect size for my size 5.25 finger. I’m soooo excited. I was thinking this morning that I might want to do a bezel or collet set with shield shaped onyx on the sides but now that I see it in person I’m definitely thinking a simple 8 prong crown solitaire with a matte finish similar to the ring I sold. Was originally planning on 18k yellow gold but I’m tossing around the idea of platinum. C6ED4996-0A9F-48EA-B604-D3E3E777D7B8.jpeg

I got it from Sako. He went above and beyond for me. He's cjd_sako on IG. He always has the most amazing chunksters.

Here’s a few more because I’m the last pic she was under my pendents that have vintage amber bulbs. 6BA0268A-7CC6-4A33-9BCA-18C91E926496.jpegCD8313BE-3F7D-4D83-960C-BC6472511FBE.jpeg68774C8D-4EEA-493F-8240-90EF23A3CB67.jpeg34489813-974B-4D02-976B-CBA0F61D0F91.jpeg

Did you post the specs for this baby? It looks amazing. You can't go wrong with either yellow gold or platinum. I think go with what you prefer most.

Thank you! I was so excited I forgot to include specs. It’s 2.02 N VS1/2 (was 2.05 VS2 but Sako was amazing and polished out a bit of wear that I was concerned about). I’m a huge yellow gold fan so I’m leaning towards 18k yellow.

Oh that's lovely, you would barely notice the 0.03 loss but a much better stone. Does yours have fluor? What are the dimensions lol sorry I'm so nosey, I'm getting a OMC as well so interested to compare and see what you do with it.
