If I get the round that I've got on hold, I'll have some additional $$ to spend at WF as part of this upgrade, about $1820 to be exact. Can you help me figure out which stones to consider?

I'd likely put whatever it is into a ring, not right now, but eventually. I'm thinking a princess since I have the round, but there are several great rounds at WF right now that would come in under this price. And they might have a bit bigger measurements. BUT, the princess would be something different.

SO, I don't know anything about princess, I need help! I think I've read that color is more obvious on a princess. Is this true? I've also heard inclusions can be more obvious. Is this true? My biggest issue is that I don't like to see the clouds or milkiness from an angle, so I'd like to stay away from anything that's going to have inclusions I can see from an angle. I'm on the computer all day at work and I DO NOT want to stare at that cloudy area!

There is one D princess that has med flour. Would this be milky?

I don't talk to Lesley until tomorrow, so any input from you guys will help me tremendously in talking with her and deciding what to do.

HELP!

Here are some I've bookmarked:

As you can see, I need some direction! I don't have many SI1s here trying to avoid that milky, sandy cloud thing. If there is a really good SI1 that would help me maximize the size, I'd be interested, but I'm just a bit gun shy.

Will these size princesses look too small in a ring? I don't want it to look too small.

HELP me! I am crazy...

Do you have diamond studs? I''m just not sure what you''d do with a half carat princess if you have a round for your e-ring. It would really need sidestones to be a RHR. I''d probably go for matching round studs or a round for a pendant with the extra money if it was me. But if you do go with princess, the ACA''s are always a good choice. I like x-factors, too.

I don''t think it''ll be too small for a ring, depending on what you''re used to wearing, but like Ellen I''m not entirely sure what you''d do with it. Could you explain?

I think that size would make a nice pendant or for that money you could get some studs or huggies if you don''t have those already. If you''re trying to do something for future upgrades as well I think that WF''s earrings can be upgraded as long as they aren''t the RSG ones.

I have .25 ctw small studs from WF. They are very dainty. I have considered looking for studs to use this money for, but somehow, since I''d be using the $$ from the stone I have now, .838 F/VS2 and going to the one that woobug first reserved, I feel like the extra money should be a ring. I haven''t been able to stay within the $4100 I have in the F/VS2 ring and find a bigger stone. When I found that .81 J/VS2 and thought - wow, I could keep the same size stone and have extra money for something else, this is where I am now... That stone, btw is http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-684411.htm#

Would it be terribly weird to have a princess ering and wear them on alternate days? People at work might think me crazy...

All this being said, I could go for studs, but I''d really have to think it over. I like my dainty stones just fine for now.

That xfactor is the smallest of them all...

I''m sorry for being confusing. I have a .838 F/VS2 that was a $4100 stone. I''ve not been happy with "sand" like inclusions in the stone that I can see easily from an angle. I am considering this stone as an upgrade if you will: http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-684411.htm#

This stone is only $2280 and is a .81 J/VS2. I''d have another $1821 to spend in order to complete an upgrade and spend at least a $1 more. This J/VS2 stone would sit in my micropave legato.

Then, I''d get a princess and put it in a simple setting and wear it sometimes. Is this weird?

I don''t think it is crazy at all to have two e-rings! But I think a half carat princess is going to look a good bit smaller than an ideal cut round, so I think you''ll prefer wearing the larger round. In fact, why don''t you put all the money into another round stone just a little larger? And are you sure you''d be happy going from a F to a J? That''s quite a jump.

It''s not weird at all, but I wonder how much you''d wear the smaller stone. The difference is quite large, about 4.5mm to 6mm. I suppose that''s the good thing about WF, if you turn out not to wear it, it can be exchanged or upgraded again.

I''m not sure that I''d do so I know I sound very discouraging, but you may the type who likes a bit of choice in your engagement rings. If so, no reason not to go for it!

My hubby won't let me add any $$ to the stone. Do you see any stones I should consider at WF that would be rounds? My current one is an ACA. I had a G/SI1 before this one and the clarity of the SI1 was less of an issue in it in reality. But the clouds in it were the reason I switched. So, clouds and their clarity issues have be gun shy on a few stones. Face up, you can't see them. But when you slant the stone, you see them easily.

Regarding the jump of color, that is something I'm going to discuss with Lesley tomorrow. My F kinda seems grey in a lot of the lighting unless I've just cleaned it.

Other stone for my current ering that's got this whole thing going:
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/woobugs-1st-wf-stone-what-do-you-think-of-it-im-considering-it.80968/
It's such a great price, but it brings up the issue of what to do with the rest of the money...

I think if you watch the inventory, you''ll eventually find a G, H or I VS2 that is a little larger than your current stone and would make it worth upgrading. I''d rather have one better quality stone, myself.

Anyone want to weigh in on what the best stone at WF right now for $1820 or so is? I can''t really add money to it as my husband doesn''t want me to spend more.

cinnamon, I''ve looked, but you''re either below the target, or then it jumps to where you''d need to add.

What do you think of any of those princesses? Would they just be too small to make a nice ring?

I love rounds. I would get the .608 sized round it was eye clean, ask WF what they think about that stone, it is an ACA and I would make it a pendant. If you go w/a princess I think when they are turned diagonal they are so pretty.

Funny that you would say this. I have a 6mm square tourmaline that I bought from Jeff White. I had it out on the way to work (driving no less) and trying to see what it would look like in a ring. The princesses I''m looking at are less than 4mm. It looked kinda cool turned diagonal even on my hand.

I do love rounds as well, but a princess ering (to wear occasionally) would be awesome as well.

i would say, no it is not crazy to have two e-rings to alternate! just my 2 cents.

Honestly? I think so, and you're getting that from someone who isn't a size gal. If anything do what skippy said and go with the round pendant.

What about the Xfactor I listed? I could make a ring like chrono''s jublilee with sidestones. Her jubilee is bigger than this Xfactor, but not by tons. I think hers is 5.3mm and these are 4.3mm or so.

Like Ellen, I think this is too small for a ring. It would make a nice pendant, though. I really think if you''d wait a few weeks, WF will get more inventory and you can get a G or H stone that is a little larger than your current one.

So are you saying that I should pass on the J/VS2 stone that I have reserved as part of this upgrade? That''s the stone in my other post that is the really good price and size. Or, do you think I should ask Lesley if I can hold the extra credit I''ll incur until I find the perfect stone to use it with? Or, are you saying that I should wait for a larger stone altogether? That last one could take a while. I''ve been scouring their new stones each time they come in.

Well, sure, you could do that, if that''s what you really want. I just wonder if you''d truly be happy with it, as it seems you''re just spending money to get the other stone. I understand the problem, but I would recommend thinking hard before you do something.

I agree. If I make the move to the J/VS2 stone and don''t have a really good plan in place to spend the other funds, I''m not putting them to good use for something I''ll love. Late last night, I thought about making a three stone ring. I''d have enough credit to make a three stone ring with .3ish stones. I have three daughters, and a 3 stone ring with 3 stones of the same size would be a ring to honor them. I tried to find some examples of 3 stone rings with same size stones, but there are not a lot of examples. I wear a size 4.5, so 3 stones of roughly 4mm each would give me great spread. It''s the best idea I''ve had yet that makes my heart pitter patter a little bit.

What do you think about that idea? It''s a meaningful way to spend the money and feels really pleasing to me.

Stay tuned...I still have to discuss the J/VS2 stone with Lesley. AND, iif I decide to go for that stone, I''ll likely wait to pick the .3ish stones when next month''s shipment comes in. I am feeling better about this whole thing now. I feel I can make a decision to go or not go on the J and be fine with it instead of making decisions just to be making them...
