after a protracted search across multiple vendors (ID, whiteflash, briangavin, goodoldgold etc), I've finally decided on 4 diamonds. Would love feedback on them! I am posting two from JA, one from Ritani. I have another diamond at JA that I will post later, once I get feedback from these 3.(I don't know an PSers who have bought a diamond from Ritani, but my search extended far and wide and this diamond looked promising on my limited budget!) If you can find me an amazing oval for 5k or less, I'll consider those. I am a full-time mom so pls don't judge me on my efforts! ASET forthcoming on the JA diamonds.

And because I really don't like most settings out there, I am putting it into this temp. setting:

Any feedback on whether 1.5mm band is too thin please let me know;)

THANKS

Oval looks like it would have a pretty noticeable bowtie.

The Ritani stone might be better in that regard but looks kinda mushy.

I'd probably pick the cushion as it has nice patterning. But I also tend to favor cushions.

Thanks for the feedback. By "mushy" do you mean the top and bottom have that really crushed ice look? Because I felt the same way a little bit. The oval diamond I was concerned did have a bowtie, it is probably one of the least pronounced bow tie ovals on JA right now, so I'll have to think about that. And the cushion, well it's not modified so I was very excited to find it there. I am just concerned it will be a tad small 6.10x5.94. Thanks a lot for your input.

Yes, it can have the crushed ice look. Cushion cuts don't face up very big so that is a draw back. Whether that particular size is small is a personal opinion. It can also depend on finger size as on a size 3 finger it will cover more of the finger and look larger. But I wouldn't say 6mm is on the small size. I do understand your concern because for me 7mm and up provides very nice finger coverage and looks pretty big. 6mm isn't bad but on my size 6 it does look a little small or at least average.

That's reassuring actually, I'm a size 5. I guess in the real world it's not small, but again I am on PS seeing some very nice, large diamonds.

Anxiously awaiting ASETS on these. Ritani oval prob out since it does look mushy to me.

ASET images are in!

ASET are in. So question is... does the performance mean that my concerns about a bowtie are unfounded? I found another oval I really like and can pursue:

FROM JA:

Your oval diamond, diamond has a beautiful shape and great fire, brilliance, and scintillation. It’s a lively diamond and its brightness balances beautifully throughout. Additionally, it’s eye clean and has a true “J” color. Diamond your cushion diamond, is also very bright. It has some contrast in the table, but is bright overall. It has an attractive cushion shape, a true “I” color, and appears eye clean. Both of these diamonds come recommended and will look great mounted in any setting. When making your decision, you truly can make the purchase based on your personal preference for shape.

Thoughts? is the new oval worth exploring or is this ASET image all good?

anyone? I have less than 24 hrs to lock this down:) Thanks

Unless I am reading it wrong, JA called the oval J color and the cushion I color. So not really very helpful at all.

I don't like the ASET on the cushion, and it is just smaller than the oval. So I'd probably pursue ovals at this weight. The biggest problem with these ASET images is that they need to be taken on a white background so you can see the leakage. But that is why they do it on black.

I think the oval is okay, but I would want to look further. The newest one you posted may have potential, but you only have one ASET request left at JA. I think both have a bow tie to a degree. But only you can know if it is enough to bother you.

I agree with diamondseeker. Both are okay but a bit underwhelming.

Thanks for the feedback. So, I was on the fence about the oval and the diamond was released Wed PM. unfortunately we were victims of a burglary Wed AM while I was in the house with my small kids. as it turns out, the oval has since sold. I requested my final ASET for the diamond above...the H VS2. I do think the I color diamond that sold was a great deal compared to this stone because they're very similar and it was $900 cheaper. But I also believe that things work out the way they were meant to. So I'm OK with this. Barring a terrible ASET this oval will prob be it. my only hangup is that it is an H color which is higher than I had wanted for a rose gold setting, but I think it could be a nice contrast. I'll update with my new ASET when it arrives!

thoughts on this oval? It was my original request but couldn't be serviced because it was taken off the site randomly. So, they have the ASeT on my H vs2 but I told them I want this one now that its back on and to get me imaging if possible. I like how it looks, the specs are exactly what I wanted.

Right now you can't buy it but still hasn't been taken off their site. Eek.

Never knew diamind buying could be so crazy!

The 1.2 has a much nicer center than that other oval. It does have an arrow going through the center but IMO it has a very
pleasing center and in the video looks to be a very "bright" J.

Can someone clarify what it means to have an arrow? I literally do see an arrow in the center but I didn't know if that was good or bad? Also, since I won't be able to receive ASET on this, I looked closely for light leakage and I think there could be some spots on the left side?. But then again this has a very little bowtie where most ovals have a bowtie.

I will post when I get this sent to me. I am having it mounted because I feel confident in it, and the return policy:) (JA 1.5mm comfort fit to be exact).

Either way this is within my budget, exact specs I was looking for, & very pleasing to my eye vs when I almost got scammed at the B&A not even knowing what I was looking at.

Fingers crossed!
