Going to propose this weekend and need to get a stone by tomorrow. These all seem within ideal proportions but would appreciate your opinions comparing the depth, table, and inclusions between the diamonds. I was hoping if any of you could point out which ones are better and why.

Also, I'd like to get an F-VS2 but think that might be out of my price range (looking for around 1.5 carats for under $13,500). I may have to settle on F/SI1. Would you guys pay extra for an F-VS2 over an SI-1? This following diamond seems pretty clean to me and I'm leaning towards this one. Is that inclusion pretty good for an SI1? I also noticed that there might be an inclusion running over the edge of the diamond - does it look ok? If you click on the grading report and zoom in, it's pretty clear:

How about compared to these:

Finally, do these prices seem decent? Thanks so much, everybody. I have to make a purchase by tomorrow morning so all of your thoughts would be appreciated!

If the SI1 was eyeclean, no I would not pay the difference. I also probably would drop down to a G to get more diamond options.

And just FYI about Bluenile: They don''t have an upgrade policy if that matters to you.

I agree with Neatfreak, Blue Nile does not have an upgrade policy and if you are buying a 1.5 ct now, I am almost certain that you would like to have a large stone in the future.

Here is a 1.5 ct ACA from Whiteflash

Good Luck and the above companies have lifetime upgrade policies.

First one seems pretty good.

Agree. First (Blue Nile) one does look pretty good. You might notice the inclusion at the edge (feather?). But maybe it can be hidden by a prong later on.

Thanks guys, I look forward to hearing from more of you!

I put these two of the three on hold because they looked the cleanest on their reports. I asked Blue Nile to look at them for me and see if any of the inclusions are visible to the eye. They said they''d get back to me in the morning:

http://www.bluenile.com/diamonds_details.asp?__fun_frm=i&pid=LD01022362&filter_id=0#grading_report

Of the original three (which includes the above 2 I put on hold), if the inclusions are all invisible to the naked eye, which one would you guys go for? I have to purchase it by tomorrow afternoon so all thoughts are appreciated!

Thanks!

I''d pick the first one. It''s the largest. Good luck this weekend!

Hey everybody,

I had placed that diamond on hold - that''s why it''s saying that it''s not available for sale: http://www.bluenile.com/diamonds_details.asp?__fun_frm=i&pid=LD00380142&filter_id=0#grading_report

I just got the call from Blue Nile that the stone is eye-clean. One thing that troubles me is that the report dates back to September of 2006. It troubles me because it seems like a lot of people may have passed on buying this particular diamond. Any thoughts? Does the stone seem ok to you guys for the price?

You can check out prices of similar with the search by cut tool above. I wouldn't worry too much about the date of the grading report, it just means probably this diamond hasn't found a home yet and it looks like a possible good pick. That is the thing though with BN is no upgrade policy, make sure you don't wish later that you had the option.
