Hey there everyone, I hear you may be the people to talk to about engagement rings and diamonds!
I've just started my search for the perfect engagement ring. I've done so much reading that my brain is overflowing and I think I need an outside opinion to make sure I'm on the right path. We have a trip planned to Disneyland at the end of January and I really wnat to surprise her with a proposal then. (cliche I know, but Disney parks are her most favorite thing in the world. Let me give you some details first.
My budget is roughly $5500 CAD, but willing to spend a bit more for the perfect ring. I want to keep the ring a secret, but have been able to talk out a fair bit of information from her. She likes simple yet elegant things, so I am going to go with a solitaire with a bit of flare. I’ve went to what feels like a million stores in the past week, mainly mall chain store, just to get an idea. I do want to buy the diamond online, possibly with a setting, or find a setting locally and get them to set my diamond. I’ve been drawn to solitaire rings with a few channel set diamonds on the bands and a tapered cathedral style. The bands I’ve been looking at are around $1000 pre tax, which leaves me around $4000 for the diamond. I may also go with a single solitaire cathedral ring and put saved money into a better rock.
