I have quite a low set three stone engagement ring and I chose a very petite 2mm platinum plain band to go with it. It sits perfectly under it and I love the understated look it gives. However now I’m considering adding an eternity band and any I have tried really don’t work. Even 2mm or less sit far to wide of you know what I mean and take up too much room on either side of my finger compared to my petite bands? I’m assuming this means it’s too high? Am I destined to have this problem as obviously any eternity ring will be bulkier than a plain band? I’d love either a claw set ring or a channel with the little beads and milgrains to give it a vintage feel. Please help me narrow down what will work!

Have you looked on Etsy? I did a quick search for thin diamond eternity and found these (avail in white gold too). A couple were only 250 or so. Lower left is 2mm, but so pretty, the rest are 1.5 mm or so.

I have a very low set eternity band that I got from Leigh Jay Nacht of antiqueengagementrings.com. It was an estate piece, but happened to be the needle in the haystack to “go” with my engagement ring (which has 6 round side stones, the smallest 2 are .10 & I wanted a band w/stones close to that size, my band has .08s * we think *and it’s very close!) Anyway he sells a ring with a similar style setting where the stones are very close to the finger. I think even if you went with a 2.5 mm wide band, these would be lower than other bands.

Also something to keep in mind when you try on rings is that if the band is even a 1/4 size bigger than the thin band or your e ring it will “ride higher.

This band is on the same site and listed as being 1.4mm high.
