Help me find a tourmaline

Hi all,

I am looking to get an engagement ring soon and decided up on blue/green tourmaline for the centre stone (knowing that its not as hard wearing as others) and will get it set locally in Australia. Like many, I'm apprehensive about a first time gem purchase online so thought I'd ask for some assistance - I'm concerned about getting something too dark or lacking any "sparkle".

I'm after something in either a square-ish cut or if not, emerald cut and anything in the 1-2 carat range. I was really hoping for a nice teal colour (that my girlfriend loves) such as:

I've got a max budget of $700USD for the stone - any suggestions?

Thanks in advance :)!

Thanks for the suggestion - they have a large inventory, I'll have a look through. I was just assuming most suppliers would ship to Aus!

Try Doug of Bespoke Gems, sometimes he gets some nice blue green tourmalines and he's in Australia. He can also source gems not listed on his site. http://www.bespoke-gems.com

Love the Prima stones. I also think they may be your best bet for price as well - certainly much less expensive than the two you linked to.

I have reached out to bespoke gems (I had emailed last week but no response yet) and prima-gems. I'll post back if I get any viable options from them!
More affordable options will be great :) because the setting will be fairly expensive for me

I'll keep the mastercutgems on my shortlist - they seem to have decent colour and are far more affordable. I love Gene's tourmaline but it's just too big for my gf's small hands. That indicolite is stunning - I would've gone for it if it was a bit cheaper (and maybe smaller)!

any thoughts on this one I found on Etsy?

Edit: Actually having had a discussion with my gf, I have had to reassess the size I'm looking for. I think I got a bit carried away with all the large gems in this forum! I'll now be looking for something near to 1ct (even a bit smaller), though I haven't come across much in this size range

The colour is lovely but unfortunately an oval/round shape is a deal breaker. I'll just have to keep an eye out at on all the sites listed here :)
